In addition to farming, the Rowley family is involved in a range of rural activities including “Rowley’s Raspberries”, locally raised and made Christmas trees & wreaths and “Skogs Logs” firewood and handmade oak beams. There is a variety of other family run businesses including Cumbrian Adventures and Paintball, Glassonby Airfield and holiday letting accommodation in the Eden Valley and the Lake District.
Accommodation & Booking
Holiday let accommodation at the Rowley Estates comes in a variety of sizes and shapes ranging from luxurious stately manor homes like Blencowe Hall to cosy two bedroom cottages in the Lake District National Park.
Cumbrian Adventures offers a variety of activities including paintballing, zorb football, clay pigeon shooting, archery, off-road go-karting, a downhill BMX / mountain board course, sumo-suit wrestling and fly fishing.
Glassonby Microlight & Light Aircraft Airfield
Robin’s Glassonby Airfield is located to the north east of Penrith. It has two grass runways, 18/36 (450m) & 05/23 (350m) and is perched on top of a hill at 600ft ASL in the foothills of the Pennines.
Rowley’s Seasonal Wreaths are sold from Newrough together with Christmas trees during the holiday season and can also be shipped. This is a small family run business providing a high quality, fresh home grown product.
Rowley’s Christmas Trees are sold from Newrough located between Little Salkeld and Glassonby during the season. These are grown locally and travel less than 1/4 of a mile from the sustainable plantation woods to the front garden for sale.
Skogs Logs Ltd supplies seasoned hardwood and softwood firewood. Deliveries can be customised to meet requirements for open fires, log burners, log boilers and chimineas. We also provide custom beams, lintels and various bird/bat/owl boxes.

Rowley’s Raspberries based in Glassonby offers a great selection of traditionally grown raspberries either on a PYO basis or picked to order fresh or frozen.
