24 March – 15  April        Dragons and Chocolate,  Lowther Castle, Penrith, CA10 2HH

Dinosaurs may have been extinct for a while but dragons are still laying eggs at Lowther. Join our hugely popular Easter Dragon egg hunt and if you are successful, enjoy a choccy treat or two as a reward.

28 Feb –  3 June      Peter Rabbit Mischief and Mayhem, Rheged Centre, Redhills, Penrith CA11 0DQ

Bunnies will be bouncing all over Gallery, as Cumbria’s most famous literary character, Peter Rabbit jumps right off the page in this interactive exhibition about Beatrix Potter’s first creation. This exhibition tells the story of the creation of Peter Rabbit and includes original artworks and manuscripts which are rarely exhibited. It also reveals a fresh insight into the innovative way Beatrix Potter developed Peter Rabbit toys and games.  Children can play like Peter in an interactive learning area. Activities include a giant board game, playing shop, and performing scenes from the Tales. Will your little bunnies help Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle hang out the washing, or aid Mr. McGregor planting carrots in his garden?

Admission is £3.50 each for ages 3 and up, including adults. Children aged 2 and under go free.

 

31 March – 1 April   Kirkby Stephen & Brough Classic Commercial Vehicle Rally, CA17 4QA

Fabulous free classic commercial vehicle rally celebrating its 20th anniversary when the picturesque event returns to Kirkby Stephen and Brough on 31st March and 1st April 2018.

Free admission, donation-only classic bus rides, Saturday evening road run through the fells, food & drink, stalls and activities for all the family

 

17 April   Penrith Farmers Market, Penrith CA11

Held on the third Tuesday of each month from March to December from 9.30am to 2.30pm.

Penrith farmers market offers a tempting array of local specialities, seasonal produce and distinctive crafts, all within the heart of town. The attractive colourful stalls entice the discerning shopper, keen to buy fresh local food, while learning where it came from and how it was grown or made. The stallholders, a number of whom are award-winning producers, are also keen to offer a wealth of food know-how and recipes for their produce.

 

22 April   Colin Caygill Antiques Fair, Rheged Centre, Redhills, Penrith CA11 0DQ

An emporium of stands bursting with home furnishings, collectors’ items, vintage jewellery, clothes, antique tools, militaria, watches and more.

Spend your Sunday having a good rummage and pick up a design classic or a quirky find.

 

28 April    Judy’s Affordable Vintage Fair, Rheged Centre, Redhills, Penrith CA11 0DQ

Featured in Elle, Vogue, The Telegraph and Marie Claire, Judy’s mission is simple; gather a selection of the UK’s tip-top vintage traders, source sixty years of stock and offer it up at affordable prices. Expect clothes, vintage sparkle and heaps of accessories, knitting patterns to old-school annuals to vinyl and collectables, homeware and a lot more.

Entry £2 (under 12’s free).

The Rheged Centre is an award winning visitor attraction just outside Penrith on the A66.

Throughout April there are a number of events and activities taking place including;
