Explore Our Gardens

The variety of gardens within the Rowley Estates makes possible all sorts of parties ranging from large functions with customised marquees at Melmerby Hall and Blencowe, pre-dinner drinks and cocktail parties in the formal gardens, relaxed barbeques on the sandstone terraces, clay pigeon shooting in the woods and glens all the way to making your own stone and log dams in the streams running through the grounds.

At Hause Hall and the Cruik Barn in the Lake District, you might be sharing your gardens with the local Herdwick sheep who seem to be able to climb every wall and fence in the Lake District and the red deer in Martindale (the oldest herd of wild red deer in England). The deer come down off the fells in the winter months and we often see them when out hiking – so they might pop in while you’re around.
