This is the fifth edition of our popular Great Print Exhibition, the largest exhibition of original print in the UK. This year it’s bigger than ever, with more artists taking part and more artworks to see. Featuring over 80 artists and more than 500 artworks on the wall, and many more to browse, this exhibition brings a huge range of styles and techniques. With prices to suit all budgets it’s a great opportunity to buy a unique Christmas gift or an artwork to treasure in your own home. This is also the first chance to see an exhibition in our brand new gallery space! There is a catalogue available to buy featuring all the artists in the exhibition.

01/2 Onwards – Poems and Pancakes : a Garden Trail, Lowther Castle, Lowther, Penrith, CA10 2HH
In the deep of winter when spirits are in need of a boost, thoughts at Lowther turn to uplifting poetry, silly rhymes, naughty limericks and cockle-warming pancakes.
A trail round the garden suitable for all ages. The prize at the end – a free pancake in the café. Free with admission to the Castle and Gardens

08/02 Orton Farmers’ Market, Orton, near Penrith, Cumbria, CA10 3RU
Opening times: 9am-2pm
Orton Farmers’ Market happens on the second Saturday of every month and can include up to 35 different stallholders, all of them coming from within a 50 mile radius of Orton and many of them from the immediate community, including local farmers. Orton, a tranquil, attractive (and award winning) village that nestles in the heart of Eden.

8/02 – ABBA Sensation, Penrith Playhouse, Auction Mart Lane, Penrith CA11 7JG
Widely considered to be one of the best ever Abba Tribute Acts, they play to packed theatres and festivals throughout Europe. A stunning stage show, which combines costume changes, lighting effects and a faithful reproduction of the Abba sound.
A great evening’s entertainment is guaranteed for all age ranges. The band love audience participation, so you can sing along, clap or even get up and dance. If however you are ‘too posh’ to join in, then no problem, just rattle your jewellery !!!

23/02 – Dalemain Trail 10K, Dalemain Mansion and Historic Gardens, Dalemain, Penrith, CA11 0HB
The Trail 10 Dalemain is a 10k trail running event that takes from Dalemain Estate near Ullswater in the Lake District. It starts and finishes in the court yard of Dalemain House which provides a stunning location for this popular event. The course is within the grounds of the Dalemain estate and can best be described as an undulating cross country run in sometimes muddy conditions! We also have a free Trail Kidz 1k event on the day, with medals for all runners, so bring the family. Whilst you’re running, the Dalemain tea room will keep your spectators fed and warm. Come and join us for a great day out at the Dalemain Trail 10k.
27/2 – Dark Skies at The Sportsman Inn, Troutbeck, Penrith, CA11 0SG
Join Border Astronomical Society to discover the night sky. The evening will begin with a short ‘What’s Up There Tonight’ presentation by Stuart Ridley, followed by a viewing session in the car park at Eycott Hill Nature Reserve (weather dependent).
