Cruise to Howtown then walk up Martindale to Angle Tarn by Heck Crag. Return around Angle Tarn visiting Brock Crags viewpoint.
Adult £10, child free. Special half price boat fare with this walk

An annual May Day event that takes throughout central Penrith, featuring a fun fair, street entertainment, stalls, music, dancing and a grand carnival parade with floats and fancy dress – lots of family fun!!

10/05/2019 – 12/05/2019 Brougham Hall Wartime Weekend Brougham Hall, Brougham, Penrith, CA10 2DE

Brougham Hall becomes a living Museum for 3 days, reflecting Cumbria between 1939 and 1945. A large collection of British Commonwealth and American military vehicles plus living history and re-enactment groups will recreate Brougham Hall’s role in the war. Themes include the 75th anniversary of D Day 80th Anniversary of the reforming of the Woman’s Land Army and Cumbria at war the Home Front.

Come and buy plants from specialist Northern nurseries and Cumbrian foods direct from producers. Artisan breads, rare breed meats, specialist cheeses and Eden brewed beers. Free garden tours. Delicious lunches and teas in the Cloisters Tearoom.

18/05/2019-19/05/2019 Northern Photography and Video Show 2019 The Rheged Centre, Redhills, Penrith, CA11 0DQ

In association with Rod Ireland Photography. An inspirational weekend dedicated to all things photographic. Now in its fourth year, this show is the only one of its kind in the North and offers the chance for anyone with an interest in photography and video to hear talks from some of the UK’s most inspiring photographers and filmmakers. You can get your hands on the latest gear from leading manufacturers, as well as the opportunity to view and buy a fantastic range of landscape and wildlife work.

23/05/2019 Garden Tour: Spring Flowers at Lowther Castle and Gardens, Lowther, Penrith, CA10 2HH

Among the many plant highlights in the garden are the Mecanopsis Lingholm. Their penetrating blue looks stunning in the Garden-in-the-Ruins. Join Martin Ogle, our head gardener, as he discusses this and other Spring Flowers on his monthly tour of the gardens. Tour begins at 1.30pm with a Q&A session afterwards in the Lowther Café.
£20 including entry to the Castle, Gardens, Exhibition and tea/coffee plus traybake in the café. £18 including the above but without the traybake.

26/05/19 Classic Cars in the Park, Hutton in the Forest, Penrith CA11 9TH

Classic Cars in the Park returns for 2019 on Sunday May 26, promising to be a packed day for the whole family. The historic hall near Penrith is preparing to host one of the best-established events in the UK motoring calendar, providing the perfect backdrop to the roars of classic cars, motorcycles and beautifully-restored commercial vehicles from bygone eras. There will be trade stands and auto jumble for the collector or restorers to make the most of, and visitors can sit back and enjoy full arena displays and commentary, as well as refreshments on site. Photo opportunities and a chance to chat with other enthusiasts is encouraged, as is bringing your own classic if you have one to exhibit.
