10/11 Orton Farmers’ Market, Orton, near Penrith, Cumbria, CA10 3RU

Orton Farmers’ Market happens on the second Saturday of every month and includes over 25 local farmers, growers, producers and artisan craftsmen offer a tremendous variety of high quality and speciality local produce and crafts Orton is a tranquil, attractive (and award winning) village that nestles in the heart of Eden.  The village is transformed on market day by the sights, sounds and smells of a thriving country market.     With live music at most markets, special events such as cookery demonstrations, an award winning chocolate factory on the doorstep, and parking for the disabled, a trip to the award winning Orton Farmers’ Market is a great day out for the whole family.  The theme for the November Market is: Crafts for Christmas gifts.

Discover an exquisite Christmas shopping experience.  Rheged has teamed up with Cumbria Life magazine to develop a refreshingly different Christmas weekend.  The show will feature over 50 exhibitors championing independent businesses, creatives and makers to showcase the best of the North’s home and gifts, arts and crafts, food and drink, tableware, baby and child, stocking fillers and decorations. The event will celebrate craftsmanship, ethical produce, good design and innovation through a diverse range of inspirational and affordable gifts.  The Christmas market will be complemented by a programme of expert led talks and demonstrations included in your show ticket, and hands on masterclasses, charged separately, where you can learn a skill or craft to enhance your Christmas.

Be the first to see the award-winning films from Kendal Mountain Festival 2018 on our huge cinema screen. What we show will depend on which films win! One thing however, is certain: Kendal is one of the world’s best mountain film festivals. From high altitude adventure and adrenaline filled extreme sports films to art-house drama and wilderness to travel documentaries. Each film will be introduced by the Kendal Mountain Festival team, explaining why the film was a prize winner from the judge’s perspective. From 7pm.

Food, goodies, gifts, food, goodies, and more goodies. Come to Lowther during the last weekend of November and find some delightful items you might not stray across elsewhere. All set in the wonderful atmosphere of the Lowther courtyard. Free entry.

The Rheged Centre is an award winning visitor attraction just outside Penrith on the A66.
