7/9-8-/9  Apple Tasting weekend at Acorn Bank , Acorn Bank Garden and Watermill, Temple Sowerby, Penrith, CA10 1SP

 

As our harvest ripens we give our visitors the opportunity to taste a wide variety of heritage apples from our collection.

This event is free, but normal admission charges apply for the venue

12/9 Westmorland County Show, Crooklands, Milnthorpe, Cumbria, LA7 7NH

 

Voted as one of the UK’s favourite Agricultural Shows, and 2018 Tourism Event of the Year, the Westmorland County Show is one of the largest one day shows in the country, held on the second Thursday in September attracting 30,000 people. We pride ourselves on being a major livestock Show, with its heart firmly in agriculture. Sections include cattle, sheep, goats, horses, pigs, heavy horses, alpacas, dogs and poultry, as well as marquees for the Women’s Institute, Learning or Life, Crafts from Cumbria – supporting a wide range of wonderful artisan crafts, Food Hall – entirely supported by local producers promoting their products, with special demonstrations, rural crafts and over 350 trade stands.

14/9-15/9 The Rheged Food and Drink Show 2019, The Rheged Centre, Redhills, Penrith, CA11 0DQ

 

In partnership with Cumbria Life. Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 September 2019, 10am to 4pm  The first ever Food and Drink Show at Rheged, celebrates the finest producers in Cumbria and the North – promoting local, sustainable, high quality, innovative and authentic food and drinks.  Visitors to the show will be able to taste and buy products, learn new skills with demos from reknowned chefs and experts, and take part in unique ticketed experiences. Tickets £5 each.

28/9 Dogs of Lowther – A Jamboree of Wags and Tails Lowther Castle and Gardens, Lowther, Penrith, CA10 2HH

 

We had our first dogs jamboree weekend in 2018 and it was a triumph. Cheered on by this, we bring you Dogs of Lowther mark II. Expect more and bigger and more fun and more doggy. And more dogs.

The Rheged Centre is an award winning visitor attraction just outside Penrith on the A66.

Throughout May there are a number of events and activities taking place including;

 

  • Cultural Events –  Arts & Crafts
  • Family theatre –  Exhibitions
  • Cookery classes –   Story Telling
  • Cinema / film club –  Lots of interactive workshops

 

All these things along with soft-play, shops and cafes. There literally is something for everyone!
