Quad Biking

Our favourite place to go quad biking and to explore a range of other indoor and outdoor activities is Rookin House Farm in Troutbeck.   If you would like to arrange some quadbiking for your party, please contact the team at Rookin House Farm directly on 01768483561.

Troutbeck is about 8 miles equidistant from Penrith and Keswick located about 4 miles from Ullswater.  We often combine an afternoon at Rookin House with a wander around the shops, bakeries and tea houses at Keswick afterwards. Rookin House offers quad biking for a variety of age groups with mini quads for 6 – 11 year olds, midi quads for 12 – 15 year olds and adult quadbiking for 16+.

We must recommend this quadbiking as amongst the best activities to do in the Lake District when it rains.  Driving the quads through the streams, puddles and muddy patches is really a blast!!  Most of our friends who have come with us have been novices and it is easy to learn and pick up the technique.  Helpfully, the team at Rookin House lend participants complete waterproof gear including wellington boots and helmets so if it is rainy and cool you will barely even feel it – particularly once you get going on the trek up the hillside.

Aside from quadbiking, Rookin House offers pony trekking, archery, assault courses, rides on argo cats amphibious all terrain vehicles, clay pigeon shooting, fishing, indoor go karting, mad trax, paintballing and more. Rookin House requires payment in advance & is strict on the “no cancellation at last minute” policy so we  recommend being on time and confirming your participant numbers.  They can sometimes add on extra activities once you arrive if you see something else you would like to try.  Some of our youngest guests have really enjoyed the JCB digger activity (available for up to 7) and the pond fishing.
