Hadrians Wall, Roman Vindolanda & The Roman Army Museum

These two historic sites are located along Hadrian’s Wall. We spent a great day doing a guided tour of the ongoing excavations at Roman Vindolanda and seeing the small museum there, as well as visiting the larger Roman Army Museum which has a great 3D movie called Edge of Empire about Roman history & Emperor Hadrian. All this as well as walking along a section of the wall. This is a car journey from the Rowley Estates properties but well worth the trip for the history and amazing archaeology. There is also a lot of room for young ones to run around and enact life as a roman soldier etc.
