Wild Swimming

Wild Swimming

Discover crystal-clear lakes and meandering rivers inviting you to embrace the untouched beauty of nature. Submerge yourself in the tranquil waters of Angle Tarn, Coniston Water or Ullswater, surrounded by majestic peaks. Feel the rush of adrenaline as you leap into the cool depths of River Derwent’s or Aira Force’s upper pools. These pristine, unspoiled waters promise a revitalizing escape from the ordinary. Immerse yourself in the pure essence of the Lakes, where every stroke is a communion with nature.

We love swimming along the shores of Ullswater at Glencoyne Bay, in the upper pools of Aira Force (not the ones close to the falls – the stream continues much farther up above the steep cascades), in Angle Tarn and Brothers Water.  The latter options include a hike as well as a swim.   These are our personal favourite places to swim and we are experienced cold water swimmers.  We take no responsibility for swimmers in these locations.  Please take care when swimming and follow good safety practices.
