Really loved our stay. The property was lovely and dogs loved the large enclosed garden. Would definitely recommend as a great base for exploring Cumbria and the The Lakes.

The weather was cool during our visit,
But Christine our host made it clear that the shepherds hut has great insulation and it did, it was toasty.
Even double glazed windows.
A great little log burner that warmed the whole hut throughout.

We had such an amazing, peaceful and much-needed stay. Hawthorne Retreat was exactly the getaway we needed! Christine was so lovely and always quick to respond to any questions we had.

We had a really great stay, the location was great for getting around to nearby areas and the welcome gift of local produce was a lovely start!

We absolutely loved our time in Elm Retreat! I’ve never been so impressed by what an Airbnb offered — the attention to detail, the breakfast hamper, the BBQ/fire pit materials, bug spray, battery lamp, etc. Surroundings are peaceful and private too. An overall great stay

Excellent place to stay, a wonderful place for our family get together. It has all the amenities you should need with a generous welcome hamper also. Great local recommendations available and well situated to explore the lakes.

Rowan retreat was a very peaceful place to be, very picturesque christine was brilliant with the communication. All in all we had great time even with all the rain. Thanks

Very nice little cabin in the woods feels very private and cozy. Lots of very nice walks close by just a short drive. Christine was also very helpful providing all the information timely, it made the whole stay very enjoyable and relaxing.

We had an amazing stay. The place is so cosy and beautifully situated, with gorgeous surroundings and a perfect location. We really appreciated all the lovely little touches, especially the welcome package with fresh bread, jam, coffee and other things – such a thoughtful touch.

The BBQ and outdoor seating area was also perfect, a great spot to sit, relax and enjoy the surroundings. We’d happily stay again and would definitely recommend the Oak Retreat. Perfect stay & the perfect host – thank you!
