We had an absolutely amazing three-night stay at the beautiful Cedar Retreat, and it really was the perfect little escape!

Nestled amongst stunning woodland, the location is incredibly peaceful and serene, making it the ideal place to switch off, unwind and reconnect with nature. While the surroundings offer a real sense of tranquillity, the retreat itself is wonderfully cosy, warm and inviting.

The indoor log burner was a lovely touch, especially after a day spent exploring, and the thoughtful welcome hamper filled with delicious local produce made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived.

There’s so much to see and do in the surrounding area, making it a fantastic base for exploring everything the Lake District has to offer.

We couldn’t recommend Cedar Retreat highly enough! Whether you’re looking for adventure, relaxation or simply somewhere to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life, this place offers the perfect balance of comfort and connection to the outdoors.

Great little place for a couple of days’ getaway. Really good location, close to local walks and beautiful surroundings. The place was clean, cosy and well equipped, with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Very peaceful and relaxing, and the perfect spot to escape for a few days. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back!

Wow, we could not rate Oak Retreat higher if we tried- Christine had thought about absolutely everything. The hut was so luxurious and beautifully decorated throughout and the hamper and welcome letter was such a nice unexpected touch. You have plenty of privacy during the stay with the check in and check out process being seamless. The location is perfect and fairly central to everywhere you are likely to visit whilst visiting the Lake District. We were so blown away that we were already planning our next visit before leaving. What a beautiful little retreat! Christine provided very clear instructions on how to find the hut which was very helpful. Everything you could possibly need was provided and more! A true home away from home. What we loved the most is that Christine supported locally owned businesses which was fantastic and made such a difference to our stay. Myself and my partner needed some R&R and this is exactly what was provided in a beautiful, quiet, private setting. Highly recommend other people to stay and we can’t wait to come back already!

A great little hideaway. Perfect if you want peaceful surrounding. Made a great base for going out and exploring The Lake District.

We had a wonderful stay at Kirkbride Hall,, for a family get-together with 8 adults. The property is finished to a very high standard, with four excellent bedrooms and plenty of space for everyone. It was exceptionally well equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. A beautiful property and a great place for a family gathering—we would happily stay again.

Lovely stay in a beautiful location. Everything was spotless and the added hamper of food and drinks was brilliant!

Another fantastic stay with Rowley Estates! Having previously stayed in the Birch retreat cabin, we returned this September/October to stay in Cedar, and it was just as magical.
The location gives you total privacy surrounded by nature and fabulous views, yet a pub and bakery are just a short walk away, and Penrith is under 20 minutes by car. The cabin has a wonderful luxury feel, and the welcome basket—packed with staples like milk, eggs, butter etc, and treats—is such a thoughtful touch. They supply everything from firewood and charcoal to kitchen essentials like foil, clingfilm etc.
Even as the autumn nights turned cold, the cabin stayed exceptionally cozy and warm. There is heating and a log burner fire but we didn’t need to use either. We spent our evenings around the outdoor fire watching the stars. Our friends and their dog loved every second.
Christine is extremely helpful and makes everything seamless. We highly recommend Rowley Estates and will definitely be back again!
