We really enjoyed staying in the Rowan shepherd’s hut, the surrounding countryside was beautiful and the area was very peaceful. Christine was extremely helpful and sent detailed instructions and local recommendations. We used the recommended walks from their website and had some lovely days walking! The hut was well organised, beautifully decorated and had everything we needed to cook for ourselves. It was so cosy that we didn’t mind the days that it rained!

We had a wonderful stay at Riverain . The cottage was very comfortable , beds and linen were super . Everything we could have wanted for a family get together was there , lovely spacious bedrooms , sitting area and garden . The welcome hamper was delicious and so nice to have all local produce .
We could fault nothing and hope to return .

We stayed here for an 80th birthday gathering and all loved it. Plenty of hiding places for the children and lots of safe running space for the dogs. Huge lounge with a crackling fire for the family pub quiz. A good time was had by all.

This is the third property belonging to The Rowley Estates that we have stayed at with varying numbers of family and friends.
Each of them has been well presented with the descriptions being accurate.
The welcome baskets provide useful items – it is always nice to be able to arrive and have a cup of tea before doing anything else!
This time we had some meals provided by Lynn Hilditch’s drop off service which were very good.
We are contemplating a fourth venue for next year – suffice to say, we would recommend any of the properties owned by the Rowley Estates!

We’ve done quite a few multi-generational weekends away over the years, and Blencowe Hall was by far the best we’ve stayed in.

The house itself is stunning, full of character but also incredibly comfortable. The rooms are beautifully decorated and the kitchen is very well equipped, which made catering for a large group so much easier.

Christine was a fantastic host, really responsive and helpful throughout, and nothing was too much trouble.

A perfect place for a big family gathering, we’ll definitely be back!

We absolutely loved our stay at the Oak Retreat. The cabin is cosy small for two and we felt treated with all the complimemtary local food items! the highlight was the firepit right outside. Christine is responsive and helpful

Great spot, super clean, very responsive and helpful host, great recommendations, lovely treats on arrival! Considering how remote, great WiFi, warm water and space, super comfy and cosy. Would definitely stay here again!

We really enjoyed our stay at the larch retreat! The location was beautiful and the accommodation was really well appointed. The bed was extremely comfy and we really enjoyed all the cosy amenities including the wood fire burner.. the perfect place to come back to after a long walk. Would highly recommend and we hope to come again!
