Another memorable trip to a grand venue – despite how spectacular the property is, it manages to feel like a welcoming home!

A lovely few days spent at Oak Retreat. The cabin was amazing and had all the amenities we needed. We loved the little personal touches that were left for us, including local coffee, tea, bread and eggs. Straightforward drive from Penrith and accessible for the rest of the Lakes. We had an absolute wonderful stay at this charming farmhouse! Nestled in breathtaking surroundings, it was the perfect getaway for our extended family and a family dog. The farmhouse was spacious and well-equipped with plenty of crockery, cutlery and everything we needed in the kitchen. We celebrated my son’s 21st birthday on NYE and enjoyed making great breakfasts and dinners together. The Christmas tree added a lovely festive touch, and the en-suite bedrooms ensured everyone had their own privacy. We went on long, relaxing walks and truly felt at home. Highly recommend this gem!

We lived our stay here, the most peaceful location and perfect distance from the nearest town for shops etc. The added touch of local produce and necessities already in the hut made us feel very welcome.

Great stay, place was very clean and came will the amenities we’d ever need. location was quiet and peaceful. couldn’t ask for more. Log fire was perfect and the shower and bathroom was clean and worked perfectly as well as everything else.

Me and my girlfriend stayed here for 4 nights and we couldn’t find much to complain about at all. Was spotless, came with all the amenities you need and more. Log burner warmed the room up very quickly and didn’t have to worry about it going out and cold in the evening as they had a small radiator to keep the room comfortable while sleeping. Good size bed, fridge and bathroom for the two of us. Gorgeous location to go with it as well. Only very minor issue we had was the large hob would go off mid use every now and then but this wouldn’t put us off staying there again. Thankyou

Beautiful cottage, bigger than we expected! Welcome hamper was a lovely touch and plenty of reading material for recommended walks/things to do in the area. Would definitely recommend!

Christine is a friendly host and she was very responsive. Google maps led us astray, but she picked up the phone immediately and steered us right. Place was spotless. Sheep walk right up outside the cabin. Very nice retreat away from the city. Would recommend with the right company.

We really enjoyed our stay at Birch Retreat. It was very cosy and warm, especially with the log burner over Christmas, the wi-fi was thankfully great for the kids evening entertainment! We loved the beautiful forest, the kids loved walking the stream in their wellies and the dog loved chasing the pheasants! Ashgill force nearby is great to visit, and there are so many beautiful walks, great value for money.
