Had a wonderfully peaceful and comfortable few nights at Maple Retreat. The cabin was very well-kept and had everything I needed, including a pile of firewood and other generous touches from the host that really made the place homely. I felt very secluded even though a neighbouring cabin is only about 50m away – it’s nestled in the trees and faces out onto the country view, so I might never have known I wasn’t miles away from anyone. A lovely place to stay if you’re looking to unwind or as a base for local walks.

Had a wonderful stay at the Shepard’s hut would definitely recommend you anyone looking to stay close to the Lake District and would recommend the llama walk next to the hut!

We just want to say thank you for a lovely stay in a lovely spot. Maple Retreat was comfortable, peaceful & everything we hoped it would be for a slow weekend. Arriving to find the local produce was a lovely extra surprise too & much appreciated, especially after a long drive. The damson jam was excellent in granola bowls, our favourite breakfast. We enjoyed the barbecue, fire pit, and extra cold fridge! the foldaway bed, which made the space feel so much bigger through the day, & of course the views through the Woodland & across the fields. We spotted plenty of hares, lots of birds, a rare deer & a surprise frog! The short walk into the village was also ideal, especially to have amenities like the local pub & the Old Village Bakery just on the doorstep. It was the perfect balance of quiet seclusion & easy access amenities. All in all we would absolutely recommend the Maple Retreat & the wider Rowley Estates to anyone looking for a luxury staycation.

We absolutely loved our stay in Maple retreat. A beautiful and peaceful spot surrounded by nature and woodland. A really rare find to be so emerged in nature with complete privacy and a breath taking view from your door. Christine is also a five star host leaving a luxurious welcome hamper and being responsive to all communications. We have already booked our next visit and will be making it a regular holiday destination of ours.

Had a lovely stay at the maple retreat! It was everything we needed for a little getaway! Private, peaceful and very scenic. Not too far a drive from the lakes either. Perfect spot!

Beautiful and well equipped shepherds hut that had everything we needed for a long weekend. The hut was exceptionally clean, the bed comfortable and had great touches such as a welcome hamper and well stocked wood store.

Lovely views and in a great location for exploring the Eastern Lake District and North Pennines. We also hired a sauna from Tarn Sauna that was hooked up to the hut that made the stay even more relaxing. Fantastic service from Christine and the team!

We had a perfect stay at Maple Retreat, i would give 10 stars if I could. Our favourite feature was the log burner especially for colder nights it creates the cosiest space to snuggle up in. The cabin is private and close to the local town Penrith (15 min drive), perfect for couples of all ages. The welcome pack and amenities provided were great and show the hosts really go the extra mile for guests. We loved staying here and recommend to anyone in a heartbeat!
