What can we say, it ticked all our boxes – superb! This is by far the best holiday rental we have stayed in to-date. The cottage is so well equipped, extremely comfortable and the welcome hamper is such a wonderful touch. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we thank you all very much x

Having usually stayed at Riverain, this was a nice change of scenery. As ever, beautifully presented and we all had a great few days, including Bailey the Lab. See you at Xmas!!

There were 8 of us staying at this property and although it wasn’t the first time in the Lakes it was the first time in this area. we found the house and its specification exactly how it was described to us. We did however have a few problems with hot water for the showers and the general problem that everyone seems to experience at this time of the year and that is the flies, but once the various deterrents were in place this problem rapidly diminished. We all very much liked the house and the area and we will definitely come back again

Our three days at Elk Cottage considered heat wave temperatures exceptional for Cumbria! Planned walks abandoned for good books, tennis, the World Cup and relaxing in the garden. We would like to thank Jilly and her team for such a spotlessly clean cottage. Everything to make our stay so comfortable. Love the bed linen.
