amazing location for a getaway and to escape.

Amazing stay! Christine was so helpful, giving us all the information we’d need to check in. The hut has everything we needed and was in a lovely area. We will definitely be returning in summer!

Peaceful location and everything you need in this cozy hut. Thoughtful welcome pack on arrival! Self check in was easy and Christine the host was friendly and informative with the details.

Beautiful place and surroundings in a lovely village setting. Very well equipped, with added extras you don’t normally expect/receive eg hamper, toiletries, kitchen roll, toilet roll, cloths, and condiments and logs for the fire. Loved the secret garden. X

We had such a wonderful stay. Beautifully close to all the best Lake District hikes, but equally tucked away and peaceful. Christine left us the best collection of food on arrival too – locally made jam, bread, muesli, coffee, tea, and much more! Both the kitchen and bathroom came fully equipped with everything we could possibly need. Very grateful to have a shower too, which is so needed after a full day of hiking!

Would recommend it to anyone! Christine was friendly and quick to respond host. Lovely place and a perfect location with the fields and nearby river. Great location to visit different places in the Lake District. If you get a chance, try and stay here!

This enchanting cottage extends a heartfelt welcome. Immaculately clean and adorned with luxurious touches. The crackling fire pit and fire place create a cozy haven where we spent all our evenings , playing games and watching the provided DVD’s. Without a doubt, I wholeheartedly recommend this enchanting retreat for an experience that feels like a warm embrace from start to finish. Lastly, the welcome basket contained many local products which we enjoyed and took home with us to remind us of our lovely stay at Elk Cottage. We hope to be back for longer!

We had an amazing stay for my Grandmas 80th birthday. The location was perfect and the castle was AMAZING. Christine was so responsive with any queries we had. Would love to return!

Me and my partner stayed here for 3 nights and everything from start finish was just perfect. The welcome package was the sweetest touch. Including fresh homemade jam, bread, organic eggs, apple juice and more. The hut itself was just the cutest little thing and the indoor log fire made it even more cosy. The location was perfect and only a 20 minutes drive away from Keswick and an hour from Windermere. Christine was so lovely, even though we didn’t meet her, she couldn’t have been more helpful. She gave us very clear instructions and was just an email away if we needed anything. I cannot recommend this little gem enough, I will be recommending to all my friends and family.
