Overview

Adventurers, walkers and hermits – this is your place. A hairpin track climbs through bracken-rich crags to the isolated five-star opulence of Hause Hall, a dry-stone beauty of a farmstead, where barn owls rear their young in the eaves. Stretch out on luxurious sofas in your spectacular glass-walled day room and feast your eyes on Lakeland hill views that out-wuther the Brontes. Warm rows of toes (and paws) at the four-oven Aga. For grand festivities or silly board games, gather loved ones around the long kitchen trestle. (It seats eighteen, so you can welcome your Cruik Barn and Stables guests too.) Regroup around the crackling log fire for wine, conversation, laughter and song.

The Master Bedroom extends over the full length of the Upper Barn and has floor-to-ceiling windows looking up to the crest of Hallin Fell. It has a six-foot solid antique oak bed and an ensuite shower and bathroom with a cast iron roll-top bath and a separate rainfall shower. Its antique mahogany wardrobe, chest of drawers and full length chevalier mirror complement the decor in this spacious double aspect bedroom.

The Rampsgill ground floor bedroom and ensuite bathroom incorporates a walk-in 900 mm rainfall shower for ease of use and a luxurious cast iron roll-top bath. Its five-foot zip and link bed can be configured as one or as a pair of twin beds depending on preference.

The Martindale Bedroom has an antique double bed and an ensuite wet room shower. Its handmade oak storage cupboards flank either side of the lime-plastered chimney breast.

The 3-foot twin-bedded Sandwick Bedroom has a private bathroom located across the hall which benefits from a well-placed conservation roof light window opening up onto the fells.

The Bannerdale Room’s dark oak furniture contrasts with its crisp lime wash and white Egyptian cotton linen. It has a six-foot zip and link bed which can also be configured as a pair depending on preference. Its ensuite shower bathroom has a cast iron roll-top bath and a separate rainfall shower.

Polished beams and limewashed walls give the sunlit living space a bright and airy feel, ideal for lazing with the papers. The fully equipped oak and granite kitchen gives you great flexibility, whether it’s different dining times for larks and owls or extra ovens for rustling up the shared feast of a lifetime.
