Had a fantastic stay at Kirkbride Hall. The house and garden are wonderful. It just had a lovely feel as soon as we arrived. The only reason we aren’t giving 5 stars is that we have dogs and the weather was awful (didn’t spoil anything though) so the dogs were very muddy even just nipping in the garden. There are no doors downstairs and we found it stressful keeping the dogs from going Into the living room and dirtying the sofas etc. The living room could very easily have doors and we think it would really benefit both clients but also the owners as it would be easier to keep muddy dogs out 🐾 I would also like to say we had Lynn Hilditch come over and cooked a meal for us. She’s on the Rowley Estate website. She was fantastic and the experience really added to our stay.

We’ve just spent 3 nights at Elk Cottage and had a blissful stay. The cottage is kitted out with everything you could ever possibly need. The bed linen, towels and bath products are wonderfully luxurious. The woodburner is lovely and was laid ready to go on arrival. We didn’t get to use the outside spaces as it was snowing but the patio directly outside the kitchen had the sun most of the day and I imagine would be a real sun trap in the summer. The hamper on arrival is packed full of delicious locally sourced treats. We took our Labrador and the utility area gave us an option for her when she was drying off from the very snowy walks! Honestly could not recommend highly enough, we will be back..!

The Rowley Estates are a highly professional business offering quality self catering experience. I recently stayed at Glassonby Hall and this accommodation catered for every single need for myself and my guests during our stay. The Shepheard’s Hut was amazing with a lot of wonderful features and necessities, the food hamper was very unexpected but a lovely surprise upon arrival with some amazing products. I will leave an exceptional review for other people to see and I will highly recommend the Shepheards Hut to friends and family.
