The gardens and grounds of Hause Hall flow naturally into the landscape beyond: you can ramble free straight from your back gate, up rugged sheep tracks, over glittering brooks, as butterflies and swifts skitter in your wake, to the summit of Hallin Fell. Glacial hills and the slate-blue lake of Ullswater unfurl around you, a view prized by famed local writer, Wainwright, as ‘the most beautiful and rewarding in the Lakeland.’ And if the heavens open, you’re still just moments from the absolute comfort of home.

The new glazed dayroom flows through double doors into the large open plan kitchen and dining room and finally through to the leather sofas which surround our warn log burning stove at the far end.

The Master Bedroom extends over the full length of the Upper Barn and has floor-to-ceiling windows looking up to the crest of Hallin Fell. It has a six-foot solid antique oak bed and an ensuite shower and bathroom with a cast iron roll-top bath and a separate rainfall shower. Its antique mahogany wardrobe, chest of drawers and full length chevalier mirror complement the decor in this spacious double aspect bedroom.

The Rampsgill ground floor bedroom and ensuite bathroom incorporates a walk-in 900 mm rainfall shower for ease of use and a luxurious cast iron roll-top bath. Its five-foot zip and link bed can be configured as one or as a pair of twin beds depending on preference.

The Martindale Bedroom has an antique double bed and an ensuite wet room shower. Its handmade oak storage cupboards flank either side of the lime-plastered chimney breast.

The 3-foot twin-bedded Sandwick Bedroom has a private bathroom located across the hall which benefits from a well-placed conservation roof light window opening up onto the fells.

The Bannerdale Room’s dark oak furniture contrasts with its crisp lime wash and white Egyptian cotton linen. It has a six-foot zip and link bed which can also be configured as a pair depending on preference. Its ensuite shower bathroom has a cast iron roll-top bath and a separate rainfall shower.

The Stables is only available with Hause Hall bookings, so your privacy is guaranteed.

The Stables offers you additional five-star bedroom suites for extra Hause Hall guests. There’s no separate kitchen or living space here, making it an ideal teenage annexe. They get some privacy; you ensure they’ll gather with the clan for eating and socialising. As there are no stairs, it’s equally good for elderly relatives or young families who need to keep their own hours but want to share in all the fun.
