Beautiful stay as always! Love, love this place.

We stayed with three generations of our family for a big birthday celebration and had a wonderful time. The house is lovely, and has everything you could need: it is beautifully decorated and equipped. The grounds are wonderful too: great for the Easter egg hunt! The village has a pub and bakery/cafe, both of which we used, and there was an Easter trail which the children enjoyed. Great for a large group. Only half an hour to Ullswater, and lots to do in the area.

We had an amazing stay at Melmerby Hall – it’s honestly perfect for a big get-together. The house has loads of space so everyone can spread out, but still feels really warm and welcoming.
It’s especially great for catering for large groups – the kitchen and dining spaces are set up brilliantly, which makes hosting so much easier. Whether you’re doing a big meal or just hanging out, it all works effortlessly.
The welcome hamper was amazing, full of lots of goodies.
The gardens are fab too – loads of space to explore, relax, or just enjoy being outside. It really feels like you’ve got your own private estate for a few days.
Couldn’t really ask for more – a great spot for making memories with a big group.
Christine, the owner of the property was extremely helpful and she made everything from the booking process to the arrival process very easy.

great location – the house is like the Tardis – it seems to be bigger inside! We stayed as a family for a 50th and got Lynn the private chef who did an amazing job. the place has everything you need including several open fireplaces which just adds to the experience. The is a great mix of modern vs original with most of the house retaining original fetures and feel but in the bathrooms and kitchen where it matters you have the modern feel and facilities you would expect. Host was amazing too – great communication throughout and so friendly.

Beautiful place, steeped in history. A good location to base yourself from to explore parts of the Lake District.

Just back from a weekend of celebration at a Melmerby Hall .
What a fantastic venue it has everything and more that a large group needs.
It was cold outside but warm and cosy in the hall and adjacent cottage ( we had both) .
Both very clean and so well equipped.

Such a great place to stay. So many times our group of friends have stayed in large houses which have been cold and not particularly well equipped for large groups (there were 16 of us) but Melmerby Hall exceeded our expectations. All the rooms were lovely, beautiful bathrooms and cosy lounges. The dining room , already laid for us was ideal. All the crockery/cutlery/glassware we could need. The suggested walks and activities were really thoughtful. We also loved the welcome hamper. We loved it so much we’ve rebooked it

Our high expectations prior to going were exceeded on arrival. What a wonderful place. Beautiful inside and out and the owners have clearly gone to a lot of thought and time making sure everything was there for the ease and comfort of guests. Would absolutely recommend for a family or group gathering. Huge thanks to everyone concerned.

I have just had the most fantastic 60th birthday celebration with precious family and friends… Melmerby Hall is a stunning place to stay absolute five star experience from beginning to end. Beautiful hamper gifted to us from the Rowley estates was an added bonus.
The hall has everything you could need in a stay literally home from home.
We have also stayed in Blencowe castle in the past, this property was just as beautiful as the castle… I would highly recommend anybody staying in any of the Rowley properties as they are pure luxury.
We will most definitely be returning in the future.

We took our family of 18 plus extra boyfriends/ girlfriends of grandchildren to Melmerby Hall Rowley Estates over Halloween weekend I highly recommend the accommodation- everything we needed was so well catered for. We all loved the Hall and the grounds and appreciated the extra wonderful touches like – hairdryers and lovely products in the bathrooms. The welcome pack of goodies and the helpful and friendly communication of Christine Rowley herself. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
