Awesome place to stay. Great for a long weekend get together with friends/family.

I have just returned from an amazing three night stay at Melmerby Hall and Stag Cottage. A vast accommodation with large kitchen and breakfast area, several sitting rooms, multiple bedrooms with ensuite/shared bathrooms with a mix of single and double beds. Would be a stunning venue for weddings or functions and hope to be back in the future.

WOW ……. Where do we start What an absolute wonderful property Christine you’ve gone over and above to make Melmerby Hall so welcoming. The boot room was fantastic space for the dogs. The house had everything we required and more. I cant recommend your property enough. The lakeside products were beautiful and the welcome hamper was an unexpected treat. Nice bedding and pillows Few pieces missing in the jigsaw lol lol Grounds were well maintained. All generous room sizes. – tables sizes were fantastic but really only sits 16 in the kitchen area. 18 could get round the dining room table – But lighting the fire in the dining room set of the properties fire alarm off. All in all a fantastic experience – we’d definitely love to come back – individually or together as a group. Xx

Fabulous stay here for a family 70th. This old grand house has everything to host and entertain a large family or informal work event. Plenty of rooms, entertainment space, big historic dining room, cosy corners, big kitchen and informal dining area and lots of places to walk to in the grounds. The village is served by an excellent cafe/bakery shop and a gorgeous local pub. (If you are taking a big group to the pub to eat you will need to plan and call them well in advance).

We were here for a birthday celebration, and there was everything we needed. Christine and her team were responsive and on hand for any question we had. The house and grounds were stunning and the village pub was lovely.

Just had a brilliant stay at Melmerby Hall with Eighteen friends for a 60th birthday. Cannot recommend this lovely place enough. Beautiful home beautiful surroundings. The little luxury soaps and shampoos in each bathroom were a special touch as was the beautiful hamper full of goodies that was waiting for us when we arrived. Spotlessly clean and catered for every need. Fabulous place !

Just come home from a brilliant weekend away with 18 friends at Melmerby Hall. Huge old country house with everything you could possibly need . Beautiful setting in a lovey quaint village with a great pub The Shepherds Inn where we enjoyed Sunday lunch . Lovely place for long walks . We also hired Lynn Hilditch catering for a special birthday meal on the Saturday night . The food was excellent and plentiful. All in all a fantastic weekend.

We had a really wonderful experience at Melmerby Hall. Our 3rd stay and hopefully more to follow . Perfect Birthday experience shared with family and friends. There’s everything you need for self catering, everything. We do a lot of self catering and almost always there’s something missing but not here. Tables can fit 18 people around comfortably so you can all sit together. Outside caters available if needed. We prepared our own food and the kitchen was fully equipped. Christine was really helpful before we went with my questions and info searching. She was available should we have needed her which we didn’t because everything was perfect. Lovely walks, beautiful grounds, plenty of parking, great little cafe with a bakery and gift shop nearby and a lovely pub in the village, just a stroll away. Highly recommend you try Melmerby Hall.
