We had an amazing few days at Riverain! The property is beautiful; spacious and comfortable and extremely well equipped with everything you might need. The location is idyllic. So quiet and peaceful. We came home relaxed and recharged.

Blencowe Hall is an amazing venue inside and out. We had a large group of 30 across both the Hall and Riverain cottage. Everything was brilliant, the views, the spectacular rooms, lots of communal space, and a well equipped kitchen with lots of storage space. The welcome hamper was lovely, the hall and cottage were so comfortable and very clean. All communication with Christine throughout booking and additional information, (organising a hot tub too) was very helpful. We had caterers on one day which was great, and the kids had a great time exploring the hall! It was spotless and all the little details (toiletries, hamper, towels, fire wood, toilet rolls) show a lot of consideration for large groups. We all had a great weekend celebrating a birthday, and would definitely love to come back and stay again!

A special place to spend Christmas.

We stayed in Riverain as part of a larger group in the Hall as well. The cottage has everything you could hope for in a holiday home. The bedding and particularly the down filled pillows make for an excellent night’s sleep. On site washing/ironing facilities and a very well appointed kitchen make for day to day ease.
Lovely high ceilings in the lounge along with a decorated tree made for a great relaxing or board game playing environment.
A shoe rack and perhaps some coat hooks by the door are my only suggestions but minimal considerations with every other provision accounted for.
Truly splendid weather topped off a Christmas to remember in beautiful surroundings.

Riverain is a very well appointed, comfortable and roomy cottage set in a lovely quiet private estate, perfect for a relaxing break. The welcome provisions were really appreciated. Good comms with the owners. We loved that all the bedrooms were en-suite, two of the rooms were enormous and the beds were all comfy, two of those with zip link super kings. The kitchen was well equipped and had everything we needed for the 5 adults in our group. The main living area had 3 lovely comfortable sofas and a huge log burner. The underfloor heating worked really well and there was plenty of hot water for showers. Penrith is only 10 mins away by car with good supermarkets and shops, Pooley bridge and Ullswater is only 15 mins away, Keswick about 20 mins. We had a lovely stay and will be returning when next in the northern lakes.

Absolutely beautiful cottage. Very welcoming, set in stunning surroundings. Immaculately clean, tastefully decorated, very large rooms, beautiful bedrooms all 3 have there own ensuite. Very spacious throughout. 2 large gardens for guest use, both with stunning views. This cottage has everything you would need. Every item of pots, pans, trays, crockery, cutlery and more. Christine the owner was absolutely lovely, I was kept up to date with my booking, lots of very helpful information, links of what was on /things to do during our stay. I would love to return. Thank you so much for all your help, your generosity of the most beautiful welcome gift hamper, the extra’s in the fridge! Our stay at Riverain was just wonderful. Thank you so much Christine.

Superb cottage with a particularly arresting living room. The space is so generous for the number of people allocated to the room; Christine and the team were also really helpful when dealing with room modifications and extra bedding. Highly recommended!

Super, very well equipped cottage in a lovely quiet area near Ullswater.

The Riverain property at the edge of the Lake District is well located. Ullswater, Keswick and a 30 min drive to Ambleside and Windermere are within easy reach. We went as a family of 5 adults, so 3 beds and 3 bathrooms was essential. The layout worked really well for us. Riverain is well equipped and the welcome hamper was perfect. No complaints, we would definitely return, especially well catered for with EV Chargers.

We have just come back from a lovely few days at Riverain, party of 6 adults, 2 dogs  and two babies.  The coach house is so comfortable, plenty of room for us all and lots of games to enjoy.  We even lit the fire a couple of evenings which was such a treat.  The kitchen is a delight, sharp knives, decent pans and even a full spice rack.  I had brought along some spices and oils but didnt need to use them.  The welcome basket, full of local goodies was delicious.  We wouldnt hesitate to recommend this lovely coach house.

We had a lovely stay. The welcome hamper was full of lovely food. Particularly the delicious local coffee and muesli. Very well thought out from booking, to making our stay comfortable, while providing quality products to use.
