First, my party and I have had a wonderful stay at Riverain.

Immediately on arrival we felt so welcomed and at home. The estate itself is in a beautiful setting and the views are wonderful particularly with the turrets of Blencowe Hall as part of the vista. The grounds are maintained beautifully.

Your welcome pack is outstanding, and you had thought of everything, and we certainly made good use of it and enjoyed it all!!!! It was also nice to know that all household cleaners and washing machine powder and dishwasher tablets were available for us to use. Your provision of tea, coffee, oil, salt, and pepper were also very useful to have and the milk in the fridge too! Moving on from that the large amount of wood and kindling you provided was also very generous and as the weather was a little inclement, we used the fire every night.

We loved the property and we all slept well in our beds which were very comfortable and the peace and quiet certainly helped us sleep. All of us enjoyed the use of all the toiletries – they were gorgeous, and my skin has never felt so soft. I shall certainly make use of the 20% discount, as I am very keen to support eco-friendly companies.

The week has passed very quickly – we visited Derwent and Ullswater lakes and Penrith and Keswick, Pooley Bridge and Glenridding. However, we have also managed a good rest in very comfortable surroundings at Riverain.

My wife and I, with our two young children had a wonderful stay at the Riverain Coach House over the May half term. Perfectly located for us with every amenity and a fully stocked hamper waiting for us on our arrival! Sadly we left behind some coats in the utility room, however Christine has been super helpful in locating them and returning them back to us. Nothing is too much trouble and we highly recommend this holiday cottage.

An excellent holiday cottage; warm; comfortable and well equipped. An enclosed garden for our dogs with an outside ‘dog shower’ and an electric power point which we used to charge our bicycles. Electric car charging points were also available. The welcome hamper was the best that we have had in any holiday cottage. It is also well situated for the Northen Lake District and a particularly good centre for cycling.

Having stayed at cazenovia for Christmas last year we decided to return this Christmas 2023. With an ever growing family we also booked Riverain to accommodate the extra family.
Once again what can I say! A beautiful house with 3 large en-suite bedrooms. Nice kitchen and a large living room. House was spotless on arrival with everything you could possibly need even down to the dog bowls, towels and extra poo bags for your furry friends.
Hamper was once again exceptional with everything you need to get you going. Everything in the house is 1st class.
If you like the outdoors lots of nice walks nearby. A short stroll takes you along to the village of greystokes which has a very friendly pub with great food and drink.
Would thourghly recommend one of Rowley Estates halls or cottages. Christine and her team do a wonderful job of making your holiday the best experience!!!

Lovely cottage – perfect for 3 couples or a family. Fabulous open fire and very comfortable. Amazingly well equipped and the “welcome basket” was just fantastic. Bedrooms were lovely and spacious. Lots of local walks and places to eat within 1-2 miles. Really enjoyed the stay and would definitely come back. We had thick snow when we were there but still really cozy. Saw the Aurora too but suspect that’s not guaranteed….

Riverain was amazing. The attention to detail was five star, from the beautiful Christmas tree and decorations to the luxury hamper, all made it really special. The cottage being so well equipped allowed us to make a very special early Christmas dinner for the family. Thank you, we will certainly be returning and will recommend to others.

I just wanted to send a brief message to express how much we enjoyed staying at Riverain and thank you for the last minute alterations and info you sent regarding places to visit. Our day spent at Walby Farm Park went down a storm with the children whilst the adults looked forward to our well deserved complimentary bottle of wine from the super welcome hamper to aid our recuperation. A jewel of a holiday home! I’m sure we will look to return again soon!

From the moment we pulled up the driveway we were in awe of the property and its beautiful surroundings! The good vibes didn’t end there, with its lovely large lounge and well appointed kitchen to greet us as we walked in, we were immediately reassured that this was money well spent and if we needed any further convincing then we had only to look at the welcome hamper! It was the most generous welcome hamper we have ever come across not just in quantity but quality too! What’s more our host, Christine, had kindly provided suggestions of where we might like to visit making identifying places to keep our party entertained a breeze. It was like having our own PA! Just brilliant. Thank you Christine for your hospitality, we hope to be staying with you again very soon.

Our stay in the Riverain Coach House, in the grounds of Blencowe Hall, was most enjoyable thanks to the elegant and comfortable accommodation, well furnished and equipped facilities and the splendid location. Clearly, Rowley Estates know a thing or two about pleasing guests for which we are very grateful and thank them for a memorable holiday which we shall long remember.

Very peaceful setting in countryside, with fascinating Blencowe Hall next door. Glorious & generous Welcome Hamper. Especially well stocked kitchen & bathrooms. Very warm despite sub-zero outside. Welcoming attention to detail. Cosy & luxurious lounge with leather sofas & large stove. All appliances & lights worked. Owner & staff very accommadating in allowing us a tour of Blencowe Hall. Very timely responses to all queries via email.
