I just wanted to send a brief message to express how much we enjoyed staying at Riverain and thank you for the last minute alterations and info you sent regarding places to visit. Our day spent at Walby Farm Park went down a storm with the children whilst the adults looked forward to our well deserved complimentary bottle of wine from the super welcome hamper to aid our recuperation. A jewel of a holiday home! I’m sure we will look to return again soon!

Our stay in the Riverain Coach House, in the grounds of Blencowe Hall, was most enjoyable thanks to the elegant and comfortable accommodation, well furnished and equipped facilities and the splendid location. Clearly, Rowley Estates know a thing or two about pleasing guests for which we are very grateful and thank them for a memorable holiday which we shall long remember.

Very peaceful setting in countryside, with fascinating Blencowe Hall next door. Glorious & generous Welcome Hamper. Especially well stocked kitchen & bathrooms. Very warm despite sub-zero outside. Welcoming attention to detail. Cosy & luxurious lounge with leather sofas & large stove. All appliances & lights worked. Owner & staff very accommadating in allowing us a tour of Blencowe Hall. Very timely responses to all queries via email.

Fabulous property which is so well equipped (comfy beds, sharps knifes and all the kitchen gear needed to cook wonderful meals). Add to that the wonderful finishing touches from the hosts. We will return and can’t recommend enough.

We enjoyed a short autumn break at Riverain Coach House and would highly recommend a stay at the Rowley Estate. The location is great, with beautiful views and the lovely village of Greystoke nearby (we also recommend the Boot and Shoe for friendly staff and great food). The house has been renovated to a high standard while maintaining stunning original features. The Rowleys provide excellent service to make sure you enjoy your stay, and there was a lovely hamper left for our arrival with locally sourced products. Although the house is well heated, the log burner in the large living room also makes for a lovely cosy evening. We hope to return in the future.

Amazing place! Just what we wanted.

My family and I, including Prudence the Boxer, have just returned from two weeks away staying, at the Riverain Coach House and it was wonderful. The communication was perfect from start to finish. The arrival hamper was a really lovely touch and the Coach House was beautiful and so cool in the hot weather we had.

Christine and her team are amazing, absolutely exceptional service by everyone, especially Heather and would highly recommend their beautiful coach house to anyone. We will be returning again when we can.

Our family had such a great stay at Blencowe! We stayed in two houses, Cazenovia Hall and Riverain. Riverain was perfect for our group of 5 (and would accommodate 6 very comfortably). Each bedroom had its own bathroom. The three bedrooms were comfortable, and the bathrooms were perfect (great water pressure to wake you up!). The kitchen and living room were well-appointed. The grounds were beautiful, and the property was centrally located for day trips to Ullswater as well as a tour of Hadrian’s wall. And, the welcome hamper made it easy to settle in on our first day. Highly recommend a stay at Riverain – don’t hesitate!

Absolutely fantastic place to stay , everything about it is lovely from the cottage itself which is beautiful it has everything you need and wish for a totally 5 star experience that you will love ,to the scenery and landscaped gardens everything is special, wish we could have stayed a lot longer.

The house is in a beautiful setting with lovely views and spending just four days at the house has relaxed and recharged us. The decor, cosy feel is fantastic and we can’t wait to come back again.
