Lovely stay at fantastic cottage. Process to book with Christine at the Rowley Estates was very efficient and information was very good. Arrived to find fantastic cottage, lovely and clean, very well equipped. The cottage was even nicer than we thought. All rooms en-suite and lovely furnishings. Fantastic welcome hamper, the best I’ve ever had and we’ve stayed in many cottages. Even the dogs had treats left for them too. We hired in a hot tub too which added to the stay. Everything we needed in the kitchen too. We will definitely stay with the Rowley Estates again. Thanks for our stay.

Stayed with Rowley Estates before and always enjoyed it, Riverain Coach house was exceptional, lovely and clean in a lovely area. Gorgeous log fire with plenty of logs for the fire. Bedrooms and bathrooms really nice as was the kitchen and lounge. The welcome hamper was really well stocked. TV had amazon prime video which was great. Christine and Jilly are lovely and very helpful. Would recommend staying here and with Rowley Estates

We just completed a Blencow hattrick by spending a lovely family Christmas in Riverain Coach House last month (having got married in Blencow Hall and also having tried out the Shepherds Huts), and couldn’t recommend the place more. Just like all the Rowley properties Riverain has been restored with great grace and care, yet to a very high standard for aesthetics and comfort. Equipped with everything you might need from the Wainwright guides, well stocked kitchen, luxurious linens, log store for the fire and even a thoughtful and practical welcome hamper, any of the Blencow cottages make a great base for a stay on the edge of the Lakes.

We had a wonderful stay at Riverain over the festive season, it was such a cosy space and every little detail had been thought of to make it a welcoming trip, from binders full of local information to a lovely hamper. Great location for exploring Ullswater and Keswick.

We had a wonderful stay at Riverain, it is a very comfortable, clean and beautifully furnished cottage in a fantastic location. The grounds are lovely with very well kept and pretty gardens. The cottage is within easy reach of everything we wanted to see and do in the Northern Lakes and the whole family loved our holiday. We have also stayed at Cazenovia Hall on the same site which was just as nice. Christine is the perfect host and the welcome hamper was very generous. We hope to be able to visit again soon!

A lovely clean luxury cottage near Penrith, great views and gardens, and within walking distance of a good pub. Christine and team do their very best to provide everything needed for a safe, restful break. The welcome hamper was particularly appreciated. We took advantage of the local hot tub hire facility too. Great place.

I booked Riverain, originally in June, to take my elderly Mum somewhere a little special for a break. In the event Covid intervened and her holiday was delayed until 1st week in October so sadly the weather was not conducive to al fresco dining in the lovely garden! Despite all this both she and we enjoyed our stay very much, especially the huge log fires and comfy beds! I would certainly recommend to others this very comfortable, well equipped and luxurious “home” in beautiful surroundings.

We had an absolutely incredible stay, the property was beautiful and a very high standard of accommodation for a very reasonable price, especially in comparison to others I saw online.

We had the most wonderful short stay at Riverain between Christmas and New Year. Emails from Christine in the lead up to arrange bedding were excellent and made sure that the person in our party with a feather allergy was catered for. When we arrived we were delighted to find a festive wreath on the door and Christmas tree in the sitting room. The welcome hamper is an excellent touch filled with local goodies and meant we didn’t need to worry about milk for cups of tea in the morning. In fact breakfast was entirely covered with eggs, granola, home baked bread, butter and jam all provided for us! The rooms are all perfect with luxurious sheets and designer toiletries. Logs and kindling for fires all provided and the views from the house are exceptional! We have already recommend Riverain to friends and have it down on our list of places to return to. Thank you Christine and everyone at the Rowley Estates for a fabulous stay!
