We lived our stay here, the most peaceful location and perfect distance from the nearest town for shops etc. The added touch of local produce and necessities already in the hut made us feel very welcome.

We had an incredible 4-day stay in this superb shepherd’s hut in the Lake District. It was the perfect escape from London quiet, secluded, peaceful, with only fields, hills and sheep around. You sleep like a baby. The hut is spotless, well insulated, modern, smartly designed, yet still feels authentic and cosy. The bed is very comfortable and large (king size) and the kitchen has everything you need, even better than at mine. The bathroom is surprisingly luxurious with a great shower (not a crappy mouldy plastic one) and all toiletries you will need. The central heating system is super modern, and we were always warm after our hikes. Christine is a great host: responsive, warm, and so professional. She had the log burner ready for us to light on arrival, a 5 star touch after a cold wet day and a 6-hour drive. Christine also offered early check-in and late checkout. Honestly, this place made our trip. A perfect retreat I can only strongly recommend. Thank you, Christine! Isa & Cat x

Christine is a fantastic host — responsive, warm, professional. She had the log burner ready for us to light on arrival, a lovely touch after a cold wet day. Heating worked perfectly, and we were always warm after hikes. She even offered early check-in and late checkout.

We had the most wonderful stay in the lovely farmer’s hut during our weekend trip to the Lake District. From the moment we booked, Christine and her team made everything incredibly easy for us, the communication, directions, and thoughtful touches meant we didn’t even need to reach out for help once. Everything was perfectly prepared and beautifully looked after. The hut itself was cosy, spotless, and set in such a peaceful and private spot that it felt like the perfect countryside escape. You can really tell how much care and pride Christine’s team puts into making sure guests feel welcome and comfortable. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay. The accommodation exceeded our expectations. The landscape in the surrounding area was incredibly beautiful, the location was quiet and right from the window or in front of the tiny house you could look at the sheep grazing on the meadow. The tiny house itself was very cozy and the prepared breakfast with bread, jam, muesli, etc. was very good and from the area. Overall absolutely recommended if you like to explore the Lake District!

A lovely place to stay for a long weekend break, will definitely go back for our trip next year!

Really enjoyed our stay in this lovely shepherd’s hut. Christine was super helpful, providing lots of information about the surrounding area and communicating everything we needed to know for our arrival and stay. She also responded straight away to a couple of queries we had during our stay. The shepherds hut had everything we needed, was spotlessly clean and has a lovely view across rolling fields. There was also a breakfast hamper provided on our arrival full of local goodies which was very much appreciated. We would happily stay at Larch Retreat again!
