A lovely few days spent at Oak Retreat. The cabin was amazing and had all the amenities we needed. We loved the little personal touches that were left for us, including local coffee, tea, bread and eggs. Straightforward drive from Penrith and accessible for the rest of the Lakes. Christine was super communicative prior to our stay, she set our clear arrival instructions and gave us helpful tips on the local area. The cabin was delightful, we will definitely be back and would encourage others to stay there as well! Christine left us with a delicious selection of local produce including granola, eggs and fresh damson jam – an impressive touch. Location was great for us as we had a car and could navigate to local walks. A perfect stay, I only dropped a star for cleanliness due to a few cobwebs around the fireplace but we don’t mind sharing the warmth!

Lovely stay, good location and facilities.

Me and my boyfriend came for our anniversary and it was so lovely! Christine and the team made our stay feel like a home away from home. The welcome bundle was super convenient and thoughtful – meaning we didn’t have to think about running to the shops when we first got there for the essentials. The location was extremely private and had a gorgeous view of the fells. This location was also perfect as it was a 10 min drive from Penrith and was also easily accessible from the main road into the lakes. Would definitely recommend a stay here! 🙂

Thank you Christine and team, my husband and I had a wonderful stay at your lovely hut. The views were beautiful, the hut was cosy and warm. All communication with us was excellent and very clear instructions. We would absolutely recommend a stay here. Hopefully one day we’ll be able to return! Thank you.

Absolutely loved both of our stays at Oak Retreat over the last year. Will absolutely be back for more walking trips. The cabin is absolutely adorable, immaculately kept, cosy and nicely private without being a pain to get to. It has everything you need for a short trip to the lakes and ambience to spare. The northern lakes and mountain walks are very close with Keswick (and Skiddaw) only a 25 minute drive away. Also only about 1hr down to Windermere & Coniston. Penrith is super accessible for shops and restaurants/takeaway and Greystoke is a very short walk (45 to take the meandering green route) and has a lovely pub with great food. 5 Stars all round, absolutely love this spot and will 100% be back.

My husband and I booked for a relaxing and chilled 4days .Christine was fabulous with keeping in touch via email and even when I had to ring ref the bed linen doh on my behalf 😂 From when we arrived to Oak Retreat it was exactly as we had seen on the site. The view to wake up to, the peacefulness, the cabin itself which was absolutely beautiful and idyllic. Christine emailed us on the lead up and informed us of an earlier check in and also in the eve before we left a later check out. The breakfast package was so thoughtful,the supply of logs for the log burner made it feel like a home away from home. Lighting the log burner once we got back from walking and the chill in the air was just what we needed. If you want the relaxing peaceful chilled and amazing views then o would def be going back. Christine thank you for the amazing break and def the relaxing and cosy evenings we were able to have. Def will be back and passing onto family to come visit

We absolutely loved our stay at Oak Retreat and can’t recommend it enough! The attention to detail was outstanding — from the generous welcome package to the endless supply of wood for the fire, everything was so thoughtfully prepared. Christine’s generosity and the little welcome treats were such a special touch. She’s an exceptional host, and the grounds are absolutely beautiful. A real cut above the rest — we would return in a heartbeat!

We had a wonderful time staying at the Oak retreat, the property is just as described, was a lovely touch arriving to the goodies left by Christine. The location was great only being a 20 min drive from Keswick. We would definitely stay here again!
