We had such a lovely break at Christine’s place – excellent location with everything you need for a quiet, cosy retreat (including food essentials kindly left out for us). Highly recommend!

It was lovely and relaxing in the Oak Retreat. The peace and quiet needed, but also stunning view. Close by to amazing hikes, also went to Ullswater close by for some canoeing. I will treasure this holiday. 40 mins drive to the Seathwaite farm and climbed scafell pike. It was lovely to return to the hut for evening barbecue and relaxing by the outdoor fire. Little cute sheep nearby, everything was so lovely. I wanted to get my paints out and paint. Next time I know to take my painting kit with me for some peaceful painting outdoors.

We had such an amazing stay at the Oak Retreat. Christine went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed & were as comfortable as possible.
She recommended some taxi companies, things to do in the area – and the welcome basket was a beautiful touch! Thank you. It was just what we needed.

Had a really lovely stay here. The hut is a very well designed. Really nice waking up to animals around us. Was clean, private and the host was great.

Me and my partner had a lovely few nights at the oak retreat. It is a lovely place to just switch off and watch sheep ! It is close all popular Lake District destinations and hikes. We will definitely be visiting again.

Had a wonderful stay, the shepherds hut was so cosy, had everything you needed, very clean and comfortable. The views were the best ever and it was so private. Loved the welcome gifts too. Amazing, calm and peaceful stay. Thank you x

Absolute bliss. We were looking for a nice quiet private place for a few days in the lakes and Oak retreat was just that. Great host who provided clear directions and instructions for checking in(Also very kindly gave us a later checkout at no cost) . The location is brilliant for exploring the north lakes. Hopefully we will be back in the near future.
