My stay at the Oak retreat was lovely. The location is perfect, the views were amazing and the property was very well kept. My expectations were exceeded and i would 100% recommend.

An excellent hut; the perfect place to disconnect from the rest of the world. Cosy, clean, and surprisingly spacious, I would recommend this for anyone looking for a peaceful break in a lovely bit of Cumbria.

Had a lovely few days. Perfect place to stop the world. Was lucky to catch some of the Perseid Meteor Shower while laid in the bed with the doors wide open. Pretty magical.

We enjoyed a lovely 3 night stay at Oak Retreat. We loved the peaceful rural location set in a small wooded area surrounded by farmland. We saw wild rabbits and the sheep woke us up each morning with their enthusiastic grazing. We enjoyed using the BBQ and fire pit on the first night and the outdoor seating is perfectly placed for the last of the evening sun. The shepherds hut itself has everything you need for a cosy stay and the bed is very comfortable. The welcome pack was a lovely touch, especially Christine’s homemade raspberry jam. We walked 30 miles in 3 days during our stay, hiking the Ullswater Way on Day 1, the old Threlkeld railway to Keswick via Latrigg on Day 2, finishing with a local walk to Greystoke along the bridle way stopping for lunch at Greystoke Castle. Christine was helpful and responsive before and during our stay. Thank you for a memorable trip!

We had a wonderful stay at Oak Retreat. The hut is beautifully designed, spotlessly clean, and fully equipped with everything you could need – nothing was missing. Nestled in a peaceful location with stunning views over the Cumbrian hills, it offered the perfect escape. Each morning, we were gently woken by sheep grazing nearby, and a little family of rabbits visited us several times a day, which felt truly magical. The breakfast hamper, filled with local products, was a lovely touch – especially the homemade raspberry jam, which was fantastic. Christine kindly invited us to pick fresh raspberries from her own field. We also received many great tips from her that made our stay even better. Communication with Christine was always easy, friendly, and responsive throughout. We would absolutely return! Oak Retreat is a perfect place to relax, unwind, and reconnect with nature, offering charm, comfort, and excellent value for money. Highly recommended.
