We stayed at Glassonby Old Hall in March for my wife’s 65th birthday we were 6 adults and one child. My daughter-in-law contacted Christine to arrange for birthday balloons and the arrangement was fantastic..the hall itself is 5☆..set in beautiful surroundings plenty of parking..kitchen extremely well equipped and gorgeous with a working aga and an electric cooker and hob…large American fridge/freezer..dishwasher..utility with washing machine and dryer washing detergent supplied..washing up liquid and dishwasher tablets supplied…tea/coffee/sugar..salt n pepper…supplied along with kitchen roll..kitchen foil..cling flim..lovely welcome hamper with lots of lovely goodies including milk/eggs/butter/cheese..the living room and dining hall are beautiful with fantastic log burners (logs provided)..the dining hall table turns into a snooker table and we had great fun playing snooker..bedrooms and bathrooms are gorgeous and comfortable (hairdryers are provided in every bedroom)…i would recommend staying at Glassonby Old Hall you won’t be disappointed…we have stayed in other Rowley properties and find that all are fabulous and Christine and the team are fantastic..

Would just like to say that we loved ‘Jenny’s Croft’. It is a fabulous place to say and so many things to do and see locally.
We will definitely come again. I think we have now stayed at all of your barns both here in Glassonby and Blencowe! Love every single one of them and the standard of cleanliness and comfort is second to none. Thank you very much.

A wonderful few days at Gill Beck! 3 couples, 3 dogs, clean, warm, well appointed, an excellent place for a short break.

If you like your mediaeval castle to also be warm and welcoming, with hot powerful showers, as well as stunning period features and award-winning architectural enhancements, then this is the place for you! We hosted our 65th birthday celebrations for friends and family, for ages 6 weeks to 66 years old, and it created superb, unforgettable memories for everyone. We’ve been home for just one day, and are already exploring opportunities for our next adventure!

Beautiful location. Property was very well equipped. Hamper on arrival was filled with local produce. Would highly recommend a stay here.

Beautiful house, thoughtful welcome hamper and toiletries and great communication with Christine.

We all had a memorable stay at Melmerby Hall which is a truly splendid property with interesting grounds and a marvellous outlook.

The house itself was very well equipped and the ready availability of logs from the store was indulged during our stay. We all liked the theming of the rooms in terms of furniture, fixings and fabrics.

It also felt exceptionally well heated for a large property. The log fires were not required for additional heat but more for atmosphere!

The location itself in The Eden Valley proved very strategic for our trips to the Lake District whilst the proximity of the North Pennines and Northumbria suggest that we should have a return visit sometime soon. There is much to do and see.

We certainly look forward to a return visit to Melmerby given our experience.
