We’ve done quite a few multi-generational weekends away over the years, and Blencowe Hall was by far the best we’ve stayed in.

The house itself is stunning, full of character but also incredibly comfortable. The rooms are beautifully decorated and the kitchen is very well equipped, which made catering for a large group so much easier.

Christine was a fantastic host, really responsive and helpful throughout, and nothing was too much trouble.

A perfect place for a big family gathering, we’ll definitely be back!

We absolutely loved our stay at the Oak Retreat. The cabin is cosy small for two and we felt treated with all the complimemtary local food items! the highlight was the firepit right outside. Christine is responsive and helpful

Great spot, super clean, very responsive and helpful host, great recommendations, lovely treats on arrival! Considering how remote, great WiFi, warm water and space, super comfy and cosy. Would definitely stay here again!

Absolutely superb find. 6 adults 2 babies and 5 dogs. The barn was perfect in every way. Pub and Village Bakery highly recommend. Short drive into Penrith where all major supermarkets and small shops to buy everything you need. I cannot recommend this property enough. Thank you for a lovely stay

Spent the Easter weekend here with my partner. lovely Sheppard’s hut. Had all the amenities you could need, from cooking utensils to towels etc. Reasonably priced, a very polite host and well presented hut. Would definitely recommend to anyone who wants a private getaway. Located next to a stream, saw some lovely wildlife. Provided with fire wood and some lovely local produce like jam, eggs, tea, milk and local apple juice that was stunning. Will definitely visit again.

We really enjoyed our stay! It was perfect for what we needed to explore the Lake District. The shepherds hut has stunning views across the surrounding fields and feels very private in your own woodland area. We loved the log burner which made the colder mornings feel very cosy. The welcome hamper was a perfect touch and made us feel instantly at home! Christine is very helpful and responsive.

Christine was a great host, so helpful and friendly. The accommodation is lovely, clean and amazingly well equipped. It felt luxurious. Comfy bed s d great outdoor space. So peaceful and private couldn’t recommend more

An absolutely stunning stay at Birch Retreat. The pictures really don’t do the location or the lodge justice. Super dog friendly, our water mad lab was able to play in the beck for hours with no one else around and no stress. Sitting on the deck with a cup of tea watching the lambs play on a morning really was a highlight. If you’re considering booking this place I urge you to do it.
