We had a wonderful stay at Wythburn Cottage, where two families stayed together, and we honestly couldn’t have asked for a better place to make memories.

From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the standard of the accommodation. The cottage was beautifully presented, exceptionally clean, and had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. Every amenity had been thoughtfully provided, and all of the beds were so comfortable that everyone slept really well.

The outdoor space was a real favourite with all of us, especially the children. It was spacious, safe, and completely secure, which meant they could play happily while the adults relaxed. We made great use of the BBQ area, and it was such a lovely touch that charcoal was provided – it’s those little extras that really make a difference.

One of our favourite things was the beautiful view of Blencowe Hall, which you can see from the cottage. It’s a stunning setting and adds to the charm of the location. We also loved that Keswick is only around a 20-minute drive away, making it easy to explore the area before returning to the peace and quiet of the cottage.

We all had such a fantastic time together and made some wonderful family memories. Wythburn Cottage exceeded our expectations, and we’re already talking about when we can come back. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it and can’t wait to return!

All 15 of our American family (age 15 to 85) thought Blencowe wonderful. Modern where needed(baths/kitchen/tv room) and a time capsule else where.
We did shooting, a hot tub, a great catered/ served dinner, delivered meals, a piper, and trips to nearby friendly pubs!
My only complaint was getting lost trying to find my great bedroom after wine. Large doesn’t do Blencowe justice.
The owners left treats and wine in the fridges. Nearby(but not too near)large modern grocery stores supply everything else we needed. The castle has no neighbors and is built on a Roman site.
Scotland is a short drive and the wall is near. Go, you will love it.

Stag Cottage is in a perfect location for exploring the area, which is stunning! The cottage itself is spacious, very well furnished, comfortable, and was equipped with everything we needed during our stay. The welcome pack was generous with local products and overall it was a really lovely place to stay.

Had a brilliant time with the family, and wasn’t expecting the welcome basket with so much included.
The house was incredibly clean, plenty of space for the dogs to run around outside in the enclosed garden.
Will definitely be staying again in the future!

We very much enjoyed our stay at Gill Beck. A fantastic barn conversion with a large and secure garden. It’s comfy & spacious enough for 6 adults and being attached to Todd Hills farmhouse would be ideal for a larger family group get together.
The welcome hamper is the best we’ve had and full of fab quality local produce. The hamper for dogs is an extra special touch. Everything is top quality from the bedding & bathroom products to cooking utensils.
Highly recommend the easy walk into Melmerby to the Shepherds Inn for delicious food and also the village bakery

We had a wonderful and peaceful 4 night escape here. We were treated with some homemade plum jam, bread, muesli and other lovely supplies that meant breakfast was sorted for our entire stay. Eve try thing in the hut was so thought-out and there was plenty of space for the two of us. Outdoor area was amazing and offered 3 more spaces to unwind listening yo the sound of the river. We can’t wait to visit again!

We absolutely loved our stay at Wythburn cottage the house is spacious with plenty of room to relax inside and out with beautiful gardens and a choice of outdoor spaces. The house was spotless with everything at hand – all locally sourced including our delicious hamper selection and the shower gels and body lotions. A short drive to shops stunning walks and days out. We will definitely be back.

Had a very relaxing weekend getaway in the Lake District thanks to Christine & her team making it so easy to arrive, check in & relax straight away.
Such a lovely touch that the owner left some local produce in the retreat for us after a long drive up to the Lakes. Would definitely highly recommend.

Birch Retreat is such a beautiful place to stay. It is located in a peaceful and quiet forest in Melmerby. It was just what my family and I needed. If you are looking for a special place to have a holiday then this should be on your list.

The shepherd’s hut itself has been carefully designed and is well built. We had all the things we needed. It is part of the Rowley Estates and the hosts are helpful, generous and responsive. I am looking forward to returning when I get the chance.
