The hut was comfy and cosy. It was a really peaceful area, exactly what we were looking for. Would definitely stay again.

Couldn’t have picked a better place to stay! The location was fantastic — very private, peaceful and quiet, with own fire pit and picnic bench. Being able to hear the stream nearby was so relaxing and really added to the whole experience.
The hut was spotlessly clean, cosy and comfortable, with everything I needed for a lovely stay. I was also gifted some delicious locally sourced food and drinks, which was such a thoughtful and appreciated touch.
It was the perfect place to switch off and enjoy some peace and quiet.
There was also plenty of useful information provided about the local area, including events, walking routes and nearby amenities, which made exploring the surroundings really easy.
Everything was perfect from start to finish. I absolutely loved my stay and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful, cosy and relaxing getaway.

My husband and I rented Blencowe Hall for 35 members of our family for a four night reunion.

Having been guests of a previous invitation to Blencowe, we were very impressed initially by the over layout, comfort, accessibility, cleanliness and “feel.” When we chose to be clients, we found the organisation, communication and friendliness of Christine and allllll staff etc exemplary. No question too trivial and everyone always ready to help or advise. They helped us to plan and organise a wonderful stay for our family.

Blencowe Hall, Penrith and all that surrounds her are beautiful and exciting to explore and enjoy.

We HIGHLY recommend any function or stay for anyone interested in a “Castle”type experience, run by a fabulous crew that is comfortable clean and welcoming. Thank you.

Probably the best place I’ve stayed on AirBnb so far. I’m currently writing a book and this place was the perfect location. Great WiFi, very cosy but also very secluded.

The welcome treats were also a lovely touch. Thank you guys, I’ll be back!

We really enjoyed our stay in this secluded, cosy cabin. An excellent host, with proactive, clear instructions. Exactly what was needed for a stress free hiking trip to the Lake District. Would highly recommend.

Oak Retreat was a peaceful, private and amazing place to spend the weekend away from the city. This was not your usual countryside retreat however, the place feels like a home with it’s own personality and we were extremely impressed with how everything was organised and how clean things were. Everything you need is here along with some bonus extras such as bread, eggs, milk and jam! Not to mention the nice little touch of a later checkout that we received on the last night of our stay. We did not get chance to use the BBQ but made full use of the fire, indoor and outdoors which were very simple to use and our first one was already set up. I highly recommend this place for anyone who needs a digital detox and some peace and quiet in a private setting! Thank you very much Christine for making us feel very welcome and the effort put in to making it more than just your average countryside getaway!

The larch was an amazing stay and offered a brilliant view of the planetary parade, solar eclipse, periods peak during our stay.

Somehow even better than the pictures! We have stayed in a lot of shepherds hut and I think this is the best one… amazing location in a very private area where you feel in the middle of the woods!

The shepherds hut has 3 different outside areas – outside the hut table and chairs, a fire pit area and a separate area close to a stream you can hear and relax.
Fantastic for anytime of year.
The hut had everything you need, I would definitely return if in the area again.

We stayed here for a week whilst we explored the Lake District, it was a fantastic shepherds hut to stay in, with all the things we needed throughout our stay! It was private, secluded and peaceful which made for a truly wonderful nature experience! Would 100% recommend staying here and we would hope to stay again another time!
