We had a brilliant weekend stay in Birch Retreat. The cabin was cosy, spotlessly clean and better equipped than anywhere we have ever stayed and had everything you could need. There was a lovley welcome basket too.
We spent our evenings around the fire pit listening to the owls and watching the bats swooping around. We even spotted a hare.
Would highly recommend.

We spent 4 nights at this beautiful cottage although the weather wasnt great a few day’s while we were there, it didn’t dampen our holiday, my husband, daughter, and myself all have busy jobs, so to spend family time around the large kitchen table, talking and playing board games was great family time spent together. My elderly mum has walker,and finds it difficult to walk so having everthing on the ground floor, and was very spacious for her to get around the house which was great. There are so much positives about this cottage that I could go on and on. I would really recommend this cottage,, for relaxing or exploring in and around the area.

We loved our stay! It felt very private and we loved waking up and seeing the sheep opposite! The hut had everything we needed which was great. We loved being so near to ullswater and being able to explore after a short drive. Great place! We appreciated the messages they sent and left us lovely welcome gifts too!

We had a wonderful stay at Oak Retreat. The hut is beautifully designed, spotlessly clean, and fully equipped with everything you could need – nothing was missing. Nestled in a peaceful location with stunning views over the Cumbrian hills, it offered the perfect escape. Each morning, we were gently woken by sheep grazing nearby, and a little family of rabbits visited us several times a day, which felt truly magical. The breakfast hamper, filled with local products, was a lovely touch – especially the homemade raspberry jam, which was fantastic. Christine kindly invited us to pick fresh raspberries from her own field. We also received many great tips from her that made our stay even better. Communication with Christine was always easy, friendly, and responsive throughout. We would absolutely return! Oak Retreat is a perfect place to relax, unwind, and reconnect with nature, offering charm, comfort, and excellent value for money. Highly recommended.

What a lovely stay! The cabin was spacious and clean. Everything we needed they provided , the added touches of the food and bathroom products were very much appreciated. We couldn’t fault and have recommended to all family and friends! Thank you so much.

This is our second stay. Lovely, well equipped and maintained cottage with 2 comfortable beds/bedrooms. In a beautiful rural setting near to many local walks. Quieter location than the main lakes, which can get very busy with lots of traffic, but these are still easily reached by car for a half day/day trip.
The welcome hamper is very generously stocked with delicious groceries.
Plenty of places to eat out and/or the main supermarkets will deliver here.
The Rowley estate team are all very friendly and efficient.
Our 2 dogs and we were very happy with our relaxing week.
