The Larch retreat is truly a paradise for anyone looking for a place to stay whilst exploring the lake district! It is such a peaceful and remote location, and is the perfect place to get away from all the noise of the lake district in the holidays. It is care that the Rowley estates team have put a lot of effort into making this place special, and they show dedication and support to whoever choses to stay with them! Would recommend 100%!

We had a group of friends and our dogs. It was a lovely week and the property is spacious and well appointed.

I could write pages about Kirkbride Hall. It was absolutely fantastic with lots of space for 8 adults and 3 dogs . We felt totally at home in such a peaceful and beautiful setting. The amazing hamper was fantastic even going over and above to let us have more of the delicious jam. Nothing was too much trouble , we felt very looked after. The whole house was immaculate and a large gardens for the dogs to run around. All the information provided was spot on and really helpful Very very comfy beds and the bathrooms were fantastic. I can’t say enough about the location and the house and would 100% recommend as the most perfect base for travelling around the Lake District. We were fortunate to have some beautiful weather to fully appreciate the surroundings and to have a bbq The locals were so friendly towards us even helping with providing a light to walk back from the lovely Shepherds Inn which I would recommend as the food is amazing and a great atmosphere. Lovely scenic surroundings and private location

Beautiful place that made us feel right at home, the place was spotless and everything was as described. Christine was very responsive and had left us clear instructions on how to find the accommodation and check in. Beautiful hamper of breakfast items along with a booklet full of local recommendations which we found very helpful for getting around. 10/10 would definitely go back!

Thank you so much for a wonderful stay – this is one of the few Airbnbs where the host really has thought of everything you could need! The area was stunning with a small village an easy walk away. The property itself is perfect for 6 people – it’s bigger than it looked in the photos. Christine sent detailed instructions and recommendations, and even went the extra mile to make sure we had enough charcoal to make use of the barbecue over a sunny weekend in the Lakes. We will definitely be staying again!

The Maple Shepards Hut is an absolutely Devine stay, in a beautiful location if you’re looking for something just out of the way but close enough to take short drives all over the lakes. The owner went completely above and beyond, with her beautiful property and gracious hospitality. I’ve never felt more at home on a short break and would happily return in a heartbeat. Clean, well stocked, and peaceful. Facilities were fantastic and well maintained – we were bawled over at the effort put in to keep everything running eco friendly. Truly a five star establishment

we have just got back from 3 nights at Rowan Retreat and like a few other reviews, or only regret is not staying longer! the breakfast hamper on arrival was enjoyed, the location was picturesque and the hut itself was perfect. everything has been thought of! we will be back

The Retreat was fantastic – peaceful, tranquil and private. The cabin had everything that you’d ever need and the welcome pack was such an added extra. We would definitely stay here again for a getaway into nature.
