My husband and I booked for a relaxing and chilled 4days .Christine was fabulous with keeping in touch via email and even when I had to ring ref the bed linen doh on my behalf 😂 From when we arrived to Oak Retreat it was exactly as we had seen on the site. The view to wake up to, the peacefulness, the cabin itself which was absolutely beautiful and idyllic. Christine emailed us on the lead up and informed us of an earlier check in and also in the eve before we left a later check out. The breakfast package was so thoughtful,the supply of logs for the log burner made it feel like a home away from home. Lighting the log burner once we got back from walking and the chill in the air was just what we needed. If you want the relaxing peaceful chilled and amazing views then o would def be going back. Christine thank you for the amazing break and def the relaxing and cosy evenings we were able to have. Def will be back and passing onto family to come visit

The accommodation exceeded our expectations. The landscape in the surrounding area was incredibly beautiful, the location was quiet and right from the window or in front of the tiny house you could look at the sheep grazing on the meadow. The tiny house itself was very cozy and the prepared breakfast with bread, jam, muesli, etc. was very good and from the area. Overall absolutely recommended if you like to explore the Lake District!

We recently spent four nights at Wythburn Cottage which is situated in beautiful countryside, a rural location but only a mile from the local village and convenient for both Penrith and Keswick. The accommodation is spacious and has been renovated to a very high standard. It is well equipped throughout the property and the welcome basket included lovely produce from all over the Lake District. The accommodation was very clean with lovely Lakeland products in all the bathrooms. This is our second visit having previously stayed in Riverain and we will definitely be returning

My friend and I stayed recently in Cedar retreat , such a rare find to have a 2 bedroomed hut that you can stay with a friend. Cedar was the same high standard and attention to detail in Melmerby Hall like the one I stayed in at Blencowe Hall. Well equipped kitchen with a standard sized oven and fridge , again a rare find in Shepherds huts. I love the beautifully crafted woodwork of the furniture that has been made for this accommodation. Warm and toasty of an evening with the woodburner. Bedrooms so cosy with beautiful linen. Thought the heated boot room was a wonderful idea ! Surrounding Melmerby was peaceful with lovely walks from the door. Can’t wait to return . Thank you again Christine

Every Rowley place is the same – fabulously equipped, spotlessly clean, really well furnished and great facilities too. Christine and Charlie are masters at this – they run every property as if it is their own. We have now been to several and have always been super impressed. We had a great week with some uncharacteristically fine weather too. Thank you ‘Rowleys’ for a great week – again.

This was my 2nd stay at Blencowe Hall & it did not disappoint!. I arranged a surprise weekend for a friends 50th birthday with 22 guests who were all very impressed with the venue.
From the moment I enquired, the ongoing communication from Christine was 1st class. No only was I kept fully informed of all aspects with my booking, I also received information about caterers, local events & other services that could have been of use to us.
Blencowe Hall is quite simply amazing! A jaw dropping surprise for the birthday girl & all the guests.
We had one very small issue with hot water/heating which Christine arranged to be looked at within 10mins of me contactine her. The issue was outside the property but was immediately fixed & the rest of our weekend went without a hitch. Thank you so very much to Christine & her team for making our weekend truly memorable. Absolutely no hesitation in recommending Blencowe Hall & we would 100% use again.

Our walking group are just back from a wonderful stay at Melmerby Hall. The house us a wonderful mix of period style and modern facilities with extensive grounds to explore. On our arrival we had a brilliant hamper full of lovely local products and plenty of the essentials for our self catering stay. The kitchen and dining rooms had everything we needed to make our stay hassle free. It was a great place to share with friends and we would certainly like to repeat the experience. The Wharfdale Wanderers!

Our stay at hawthorn retreat was exactly what we wanted, a quiet place with beautiful surroundings. It was very well equipped and a lovely decked area to sit around at night with a glass of wine by the fire pit. Christine was a great host with good communication, we will definitely be returning in the near future.

A lovely place to stay for a long weekend break, will definitely go back for our trip next year!

We absolutely loved our stay at Oak Retreat and can’t recommend it enough! The attention to detail was outstanding — from the generous welcome package to the endless supply of wood for the fire, everything was so thoughtfully prepared. Christine’s generosity and the little welcome treats were such a special touch. She’s an exceptional host, and the grounds are absolutely beautiful. A real cut above the rest — we would return in a heartbeat!
