Fantastic stay, great house

Beautiful house and location, high quality furnishings and fittings which makes it feel homely instead of a typical holiday let. Best fully equipped kitchen you could ask for, the welcome basket was like something from Fortnum and Mason and a wonderful surprise. The garden is enclosed for dogs and their private woodland adjacent to the property was fantastic for the dogs to explore, it was fenced on the perimeter which ensured they never went near neighbouring sheep. Nice local pub, great Sunday lunch but make sure you book. The village bakery and cafe looked nice but the pub won our custom. We visited in December so did not use the garden furniture or bbq equipment which looked good quality, we did however use the wood provided for the log burner in the lounge which was lovely. We would love to return to this or any of their other properties in the area.

Lovely cottage and well stocked kitchen. Really good communication from the host, who was very helpful. Bed was super comfy and the house was warm. We would stay again.

We just had the most wonderful week in Kirkbride Hall. Christine was so helpful and lovely in all of her correspondence. The property is exactly as described and the welcome basket and the essentials in the fridge were simply amazing. We can’t wait to go back soon.

Kirkbride Hall is a fabulous house for a family visit. There were 7 of us with 3 dogs and it was brilliant as the outdoor space was safe and secure and a good size. We were blessed with some dry weather so we made use of the outdoor seating area and the fire pit in the evening.
Our visit was to celebrate a special birthday and the kitchen and dining room made it easy for our cooking, catering and eating with all the great facilities.
We loved the welcome basket too – lots of delicious local treats.
The bedrooms were all extremely comfortable and well furnished as were the bathrooms and every one of us slept well during our stay.
Melmerby is a great wee village with a fantastic pub which had only been open for 2 weeks under new management. They were fabulously welcoming with delicious food too. Lots of great walks around the area and a super cafe/ bakery/ shop in the village too. All the family loved our stay and we would definitely return. Highly recommend and certainly deserves 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️++

Kirkbride Hall was a fantastic place for our family summer holiday with our 4 children. The house was very comfortable and clean. The kitchen knives were sharp (quite rare in our experience of Airbnbs)! The house was also really well stocked with everything we needed for the week. We felt absolutely at home at Kirkbride Hall from the moment we stepped through the door. Stunning house in a beautiful setting with everything you need to make your stay relaxed and comfortable. The welcome hamper was full of delightful goodies and everything had been thought of right down to a dog bowl and even a dog towel ( we had also brought our own). The Pure Lakeland toiletries that are provided are divine so I will be looking to order some for our home. We were lucky with the weather and sat outside a lot in the lovely walled garden – ideal for our dogs – and enjoyed the fire pit when the sun went down. Very pretty with the church right next door. Great area for walking too and the Village Bakery/Tearoom/Upstairs shop is a delight as is the newly reopened Shepherd’s Inn Pub. We had Sunday lunch there and it was magnificent with super friendly hosts who sang Happy Birthday to me in both Danish and Mexican! A first for me at 65! Absolutely fabulous trip – will be back!

Beautiful, spacious house in a gorgeous location. So peaceful. We loved the walled garden and the views of the village church.
