We stayed here over Christmas and was lovely. The house is such a great place for family to get together and spend time with each other. We walked everyday from the door step and it was so peaceful and quiet. Lovely little pub down the road with great home cooked food. Christine was a great host and we loved the welcome hamper was a really thoughtful touch. If we come to Cumbria again we will definitely stay here.

We enjoyed a lovely 3 night stay in this beautiful property. It had absolutely everything we needed with lovely little touches to make it a fabulous break. We will definitely return again soon. Thank you so much.

Stunning property just outside Melmerby. The house was so cosy and warm, finished really well and to a high standard. A beautiful hamper awaited us on arrival which was a lovely touch. Communication from Christine and Rowley Estates was excellent. Highly recommended.

Christine was very helpful through the whole booking process, the cottage was superb inside and very warm & cosy. Beds great, showers hot & powerful & everything thought of. Good pub 1/2 mile away. We will be back!

What a lovely cottage that was the epitome of comfort and charm. The property was immaculate, very well-equipped, and managed to feel both spacious and cozy. Comfort and Amenities: The beds were incredibly comfortable, ensuring a restful night’s sleep, and the shower was powerful and refreshing. We appreciated thoughtful touches, such as a generous welcome hamper filled with local produce, which was a delightful surprise. Atmosphere: The interior blended original period features with modern, high-spec facilities, creating a very homely and relaxing environment. Christine provided superb communication before and during our stay and we really appreciated the chance to check out a little later.

We absolutely loved our stay at Gill Beck Barn – the house was beautiful and the welcome basket was such a treat to arrive to! Thank you so much for everything!!

Just returned from a lovely weekend at Gill Beck – 3 couples (‘old’ uni friends). The weather was horrendously windy as we caught the tail end of Storm Claudia however the cottage was welcoming and warm ideal for our party. We were really impressed by the little extra – the welcome basket, toiletries, folder with local walks etc as this shows the owner is invested in guests in our opinion. Great space in front of the fire to warm up and a lovely table to eat together where the ‘cooks’ can be completely involved too. There were logs for when we arrived which were definitely necessary as it was freezing weather however not sure if more are provided and don’t remember reading about this so best to check first. Very comfortable bedrooms all en-suite which is lovely. Great garden to allow dogs out into. Would definitely recommend. We will be back
