We stayed at Birch Retreat for our Christmas as a family of three and we had the best Christmas ever. Birch Retreat exceeded all our expectations. It was lovely and cosy. It was always warm with central heating and a lovely log fire. Soooo many logs for the fires you will never run out. Gorgeous shower gel, shampoo and moisturiser to use. Lots of lovely towels to keep us going. Really comfortable beds. Everything you need in the kitchen. The welcome hamper was a lovely touch and the homemade jam was lovely. The area is lovely and quiet. There are 2 other cabins in view. Birch Retreat is on the end next to woodland and a river which was perfect for us as it gave us our own little private walk which our daughter loved each day. There is a lovely pub a quick walk down the road. We were sorry to leave, we had such a lovely peaceful time. Christine was a great attentive host. We hope to return and stay again! Thank you x

Booked for the weekend for a special birthday and was so pleased we chose here. The property was gorgeous and so cosy. Host has thought of absolutely everything. Thanks so much for the generous welcome hamper, we loved our trip!

Just returned from a lovely weekend at Gill Beck – 3 couples (‘old’ uni friends). The weather was horrendously windy as we caught the tail end of Storm Claudia however the cottage was welcoming and warm ideal for our party. We were really impressed by the little extra – the welcome basket, toiletries, folder with local walks etc as this shows the owner is invested in guests in our opinion. Great space in front of the fire to warm up and a lovely table to eat together where the ‘cooks’ can be completely involved too. There were logs for when we arrived which were definitely necessary as it was freezing weather however not sure if more are provided and don’t remember reading about this so best to check first. Very comfortable bedrooms all en-suite which is lovely. Great garden to allow dogs out into. Would definitely recommend. We will be back

Hause Hall Farm was the perfect spot for our wedding venue this October. Along with close family, we spent 3 nights here and everyone was thrilled with how beautiful the property is. All bedrooms were comfortable and spacious, whilst the houses are well equipped. The views from the conservatory were breathtaking and made for an incredible backdrop to our ceremony. We wouldn’t have any hesitation when recommending this venue to another engaged couple, or just for a large family looking for an amazing few days away together. Stunning surroundings and beautifully presented house – we had a great stay.

Elk Cottage was one of the best self catering properties we have stayed in. Cosy, very comfortable and extremely well equipped to cook in. Welcome hamper was amazing and supported local business. Highly recommend
