I have just spent 4 days at Elk Cottage and it has to be one of the best yet! Every attention to detail was taken care of, stunning welcome hamper full of everything you could need and much more. So many little things that just made our stay even better than expected. Christine was very welcoming and plenty of communication and information in advance. The cottage is spotless with everything well thought through. Dogs are very well catered for also. A wonderful experience – thank you

Lovely, comfortable cottage in stunning countryside. Touches like real bed linen and candles in the dining room added luxury and romance. Lots of local info supplied, which was very useful. Loads to see – local walks, castles, boat trips on Ullswater and sheep/dog demo which was amazing. A wonderful cottage to enjoy for itself and for its access to so many places to see and things to do. We may well return.

A lovely treat and home from home. For us a great location. The cottage comes with everything you need and some lovely touches that show how much care goes into making people feel special for their stay. The welcome hamper, logs, kindling, fire all made ready to use. We enjoyed lots of lovely walks and cosy evenings chatting and playing board games. A lovely long weekend – thank you

Can highly recommend Rowley Estates to anyone looking for a relaxing break in a beautiful setting. Our family (3 + dog) stayed in Elk Cottage and were thoroughly impressed. Extremely clean, well presented, cosy but with plenty of space. Bedrooms were spacious, fantastic fire and all the little touches were there. Close proximity to the northern Lakes and lovely pubs close by. Overall 10/10 and will definitely be back.

We recently had a four night stay at Elk Cottage and didn’t want to leave. As with all the Rowley properties we have stayed in Elk Cottage was perfect. From the hamper full of local goodies and the personal greeting card. There really was everything you need to have the most relaxing and peaceful stay. Perfect location for a relaxing holiday. Elk cottage is just beautiful, the private garden great for the dogs and all the little luxury touches make such a difference. From the fabulous hamper of goodies on arrival to an impressive array of gorgeous skin products. If you want a great quality beak away that’s affordable then this is the place to go. A lovely cottage, possibly one of the best we have visited. Very clean with lovely beds & linen plus a range of luxury toiletries. Thank you for the generous supply of logs for the fire and also the excellent welcome hamper. Elk cottage is the best home from home I’ve had the pleasure of staying in. I’m local to Cumbria, but wanted a space to introduce two dogs and have easy access to long walks and bike rides and Elk cottage was perfect.

You wanted for nothing as the cottage is completely stocked with everything you could possibly need. The welcome hamper was beautiful and very well received by the whole family.

The location is stunning. On a morning ride I saw hare, grouse, birds of prey, red squirrel, and deer along with local farm animals.
We completed a walk from the cottage to Long Meg with the dog which was also wonderful. You could happily stay in Elk cottage and the surrounding areas without stepping foot in the Lake District.
