We recently had a four night stay at Elk Cottage and didn’t want to leave. As with all the Rowley properties we have stayed in Elk Cottage was perfect. From the hamper full of local goodies and the personal greeting card. There really was everything you need to have the most relaxing and peaceful stay. Perfect location for a relaxing holiday. Elk cottage is just beautiful, the private garden great for the dogs and all the little luxury touches make such a difference. From the fabulous hamper of goodies on arrival to an impressive array of gorgeous skin products. If you want a great quality beak away that’s affordable then this is the place to go. Thank you Rowley Estates for a wonderful holiday , we will be coming back.

A lovely cottage, possibly one of the best we have visited. Very clean with lovely beds & linen plus a range of luxury toiletries. Thank you for the generous supply of logs for the fire and also the excellent welcome hamper. Elk cottage is the best home from home I’ve had the pleasure of staying in. I’m local to Cumbria, but wanted a space to introduce two dogs and have easy access to long walks and bike rides and Elk cottage was perfect.

You wanted for nothing as the cottage is completely stocked with everything you could possibly need. The welcome hamper was beautiful and very well received by the whole family.

The location is stunning. On a morning ride I saw hare, grouse, birds of prey, red squirrel, and deer along with local farm animals.
We completed a walk from the cottage to Long Meg with the dog which was also wonderful. You could happily stay in Elk cottage and the surrounding areas without stepping foot in the Lake District.

Lovely well appointed cottage and grounds. Everything for a comfortable stay is provided. Some good walks from the front door or easy access to the more central lakes.

We so love staying at Elk Cottage. The welcome we get plus the quality of the cottage is excellent. The proprietors are so willing to please, but most of all, the peace and beauty of the Eden Valley is unsurpassed, but don’t tell anyone!

Everything was perfect, especially the lovely hamper. Also, the bathroom accessories were very welcome, and made our stay that little bit extra special.

We were so delighted with Elk Cottage, the standard of all the rooms was superb and well worth the cost. Also, just to let you know that we are very pleased to have given you a review on your google page, and we would definitely book again.

Lovely cottage, luxurious fittings, friendly communications and generous provisions.

The cottage was well equipped and well maintained.
The location was rural albeit not far from some really good pubs and the walking was excellent. Plenty of choice for walks and very few people.
A very peaceful and relaxing few days away. We will be returning.
