Second time we have stayed at the Elk cottage. This is a well presented cottage with wildlife out of every window. We love spending time here for a small get away with our busy lifestyles. The communication is second to non and are so grateful following our recent visit. My youngest left a teddy behind but only realising half way home. Christine emailed me back straight away and found the precious teddy. She was posted out and delivered the next day. I can’t wait to book another adventure to explore another area. Lots of walks in the area and for all abilities. Thank you again for an amazing time.

Had a lovely short stay at Elk Cottage. Beautiful location and extremely well apointed cottage with everything you could need for your holiday. The welcome pack was generous with lots of local treats!

This is the second time we have used Elk Cottage and follows a number of stays in Rowley Estate properties. We have always experienced extremely comfortable stays and all the arrangements in connection with the bookings have been carried fully and efficiently. We would strongly recommend Rowley Estates

Beautiful cottage with great furniture. Comfortable beds. Well equipped kitchen. Nice central location for Lake District and Pennines.

We stayed at Elk Cottage for a weekend break. I’m so glad we found this cottage as it’s in a quiet and peaceful place with beautiful walks on the doorstep and friendly pubs nearby. The cottage is lovely and maintained to a high standard. The welcome hamper was fabulous with local produce and raspberry jam made on the estate. The beds were comfortable with quality bedding and a choice of pillows. We will definitely be returning.

Had an amazing time staying at Elk Cottage, was such an amazing place to visit and they made our dog feel very welcomed.
The hamper gift was such a lovely surprise and the wood burner added to a cosy feel in the cottage.
Just watch out for ceiling between the kitchen and hallway, cottages are not made for tall people 🙂

Lovely cottage it was very clean and was above and beyond our expectations . The welcome hamper was fantastic all basics and some extras included. They went above and beyond to make our stay both comfortable and enjoyable. Would definitely recommend and stay again.

We have been lucky enough to stay in a number of Rowley Estates properties, the most recent before this was in May at Blencowe Hall. We have just returned from a week staying in Elk Cottage and what a wonderful week we had. Elk is beautiful, perfectly maintained with lovely gardens and in a very quiet position, at night you could be looking at a photograph it is so quiet which allows you to hear all the owls calling to each other which I loved.
We were treated to wildlife for the week having been led in by a hare, an owl who refused to move out of the road until it was ready, a red squirrel nearby and a pair of badgers.
Elk is typical of Rowley Estates, it is personal from booking to the housekeeping, the personal touches are the difference here and dealing with Christine and her team is always a joy.
If you want somewhere cozy, but surprisingly roomy, where everything is thought of from amazing beds to great showers then I cannot recommend Elk Cottage highly enough. Oh and our two dogs had a fantastic holiday as well, they were exhausted at night 😁

A lovely cottage set in lovely countryside. We had a great stay and recommend Elk Cottage to anyone looking for a break n the Lake District.

We’ve had an absolutely wonderful stay and will definitely be back as there is so much more to explore.  Elk Cottage is wonderful – very comfortable and well appointed and absolutely everything has been though about.  The hamper was amazing!
