We were a party of 15, including 2 babies and 3 teenagers. We were there at the beginning of November 24 and used Cruik Barn as well as Hause Hall. All the bedrooms were furnished to a good standard. The accommodation as a whole matched the website descriptions and the separate dining area and sitting area worked really well for us. The information supplied re appliances etc was comprehensive. The views on all sides were beautiful especially from the glass-walled seating area.

Just wanted to send you a message to say how much we enjoyed our stay at the Hawthorn retreat this weekend, we can’t thank you enough for our stay, the little hamper of local treats, and the recommendations – It was so generous of you! It was our first time visiting the lakes and we absolutely loved it. We hope to be back again very soon.

What a fantastic place, with everything you could ask for. Beautiful inside and out. Clean and tidy with comfortable beds. Everything that you needed was catered for in the kitchen. Large seating area along with a large dining room table which turned into a pool table at night.
Quiet and peaceful with views over the countryside with an enclosed garden at the back for our dog. Great big fireplaces to keep us warm and great showers as well – with a well that lit up in the bathroom!! Large enough that all eight of us never felt too closed in. Stunning, you won’t be disappointed if you stay here.

We had a great few days in the lakes with all the main visitor places within easy driving distance from the hut. The directions to where the hut was located were very easy to follow and the parking area is a couple of minutes walk, with the use of a cart to help you take all your items to the hut. The hut is right next to the river and the stream can be seen flowing past. Christine and the team have thought of everything that you might need whilst you stay and the locally provided breakfast items were a nice touch, but if you have forgotten something or need some help then they were quick to reply with all requests. The hut is completely off the main grid and also there is very little phone signal, which makes it a very relaxing stay as you’re not being distracted by your phone. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would certainly recommend it to anyone that wants to get away for a few days and spend some time relaxing.

High recommend! Such a peaceful and quaint location and the perfect getaway to shut off and really relax. Christine was also really on hand to help with any queries we had. We had the most gorgeous stay and will definitely look to come back in future. Thank you!

Everything was clean from the bedroom to the kitchen which was very well stocked with everything you needed.

We were able to have a family dinner on the Saturday and had the use of the Byre.

we expected it to be cold so took warm clothes but they were not needed it was so cosy everywhere.

Riverain Coach House.

Once again a small group of friends stayed at one of the Rowley Estates properties.

All I can say is amazing.

Christine and her team take great care in making your stay very welcoming from the most fabulous hamper to letting you known what is going on in the area while you are there.

It was lovely to return to Riverain as it was the first one of the Rowley properties we stayed at about 10 years ago.

Like all of the properties, Riverain is still a first class cottage.

This is the second time I have stayed in a holiday let from “Rowley Estates” and both have been clean and well equipped to a very high standard.
Glassonby Hall is spacious and full of character. It was a wonderful place to celebrate an anniversary with my wider family. The time was over too quick but we all made some special memories.
