Absolutely beautiful place, gorgeous surroundings.
Everything so well thought out – from the layout of the rooms, tasteful decor, to the linen, towels and makeup flannels! A well stocked welcome hamper awaited us on arrival with locally sourced produce.
Host Christine was on hand to answer any queries we had around check in and check out.
We will definitely be returning – a new favourite to add to our lakes list!

Stunning accommodation in a peaceful area. Everything you need for a comfortable self catering stay. Easy check in and check out. Easy to find. Some essentials left for our arrival which was a nice touch.

Beautiful stay! Being able to hear the river when you open the bedroom window was so relaxing and felt so secluded. The selection of local produce that was left for us was amazing and we ate it for breakfast each day. Our first time in the Lake District and we will definitely be back to see more.

A magical weekend at Kirkbride Hall, introducing our friends to this special place. The house is wonderful and well equipped, the surrounding area is beautiful, the bakery/deli and the pub provide friendly service and delicious food/drinks. We highly recommend the catering services of Lynn Hilditch who cooked us a very special & memorable dinner, a real treat. Rowley Estates take their role in the community very seriously and go the extra mile for their customers.

Amazing stay at Hawthorn Retreat, so cosy and the hosts are wonderful. I highly recommend staying at any of the locations as we’ve stayed in 2 shepherds huts now and well definitely be back

Christine, Charlie and their team were absolutely fantastic and words can’t describe how beautiful Blencowe Hall is. The views are incredible and the property is stunning, it’s clear that a great deal of thought has been put into the restoration. The property was extremely well equipped with everything we needed to host a very special weekend. Thank you so much for sharing this special place!

We had a lovely time, the place is very cosy and in a stunning location overlooking rolling hills. A perfect private getaway.

Blencowe Hall was ideal for our family weekend for 13 adults and 11 children. We all had a fantastic time in this stunning yet comfortable and well-appointed venue. The Hall had everything we needed for a large family gathering as well as the wow factor.
The owner was extremely responsive and helpful with my many enquiries before our stay, which made organising the weekend much easier and stress-free.

Had a lovely stay at Glassonby Old Hall (and adjoining cottage Jenny’s Croft) for a family get-together – plenty of space, very clean, good facilities, excellent provisions for children and dogs and a very generous welcome hamper. Just note there are a few steps in the hall for toddlers/people with mobility issues. Hosts were great and very quick to respond to queries. Would definitely recommend and happily stay again!
