Really happy that we chose to stay at Hawthorn Retreat. The place is secluded and a great getaway to chill out and relax. The surroundings are beautiful and the sound of the river was so relaxing. The kitchen was well equipped and had every utensil you will need and also has oil, salt, pepper, sugar etc . We were really impressed with the Welcome Hamper that we received upon arrival. It includes homemade bread, butter, homemade jam, tea, coffee, eggs, milk, apple juice and muesli. The bathroom had everything you need you don’t need to bring toilet roll, body wash, hand wash, shampoo and conditioner. The shower is hot too. The whole place was absolutely immaculate and the bed is really comfortable. The Wi-Fi speed is brilliant considering we were in the middle of nowhere. The electrics all worked fine. Outside we were delighted to find a bbq and a fire pit. The coals and the wood were also supplied.free of charge which was a really nice touch. 100% recommend this place.

Had an absolutely wonderful time at the Hawthorn Retreat. Very clear communication from Christine, very clean, and overall a beautiful place to stay. Could not reccomend anymore!

Beautiful place that made us feel right at home, the place was spotless and everything was as described. Christine was very responsive and had left us clear instructions on how to find the accommodation and check in. Beautiful hamper of breakfast items along with a booklet full of local recommendations which we found very helpful for getting around. 10/10 would definitely go back!

The Retreat was fantastic – peaceful, tranquil and private. The cabin had everything that you’d ever need and the welcome pack was such an added extra. We would definitely stay here again for a getaway into nature.

We had a beautiful stay at the Hawthorn Retreat, the property was exactly as described in a perfect, tranquil location. Christine had left a very generous hamper of gifts for us upon arrival, including milk, bread and some of their own homemade raspberry jam. We were recommended plenty of things to do and places to eat which made the stay so enjoyable. Overall a lovely 5 days, I could not recommend the property, and Penrith itself more!

I couldn’t recommend this place enough for a romantic get away, the accommodation is cozy and comfy with everything you need, the scenery is stunning and serene. The owner was really helpful. Me and my partner fell in love with the place.

I had very relaxed long weekend in a shepherd’s hut – Hawthorn retreat. Christine and her team had thought of everything, from great communication, a very generous welcome hamper and a useful information folder. The Rowley Estates is in a stunning part of the country with so much to offer from great walks to beautiful castles and lots more, but if you just want to sit back and relax the scenery is just breathtaking.
I would highly recommend a stay, you won’t be disappointed. I will definitely be returning. Thank you

Just a quick note to say thank you for making my trip to Hawthorn retreat so lovely. From your directions to the wonderfully generous welcome pack it all made for a relaxing stay. The handbook was very useful and I enjoyed doing a couple of the walks, and to finish off I went and picked some delicious raspberries which I have now made into jam!
I will definitely be recommending The Rowley Estate to family and friends.
