Melmerby Hall ticked all the boxes. The most amazing property any member of the party had ever stayed in. From start to finish Christine and her team were brilliant down to the last detail. From the welcome hamper, the bathroom products, the well equipped kitchen, the grounds and outdoor games, it exceeded all our expectations, no one wanted to leave! We had a drop off meal and a celebration dinner from the wonderful Lynn Hilditch and the most amazing cake from Sara Ruddick! So pleased we discovered the Rowley Estates . I am trying to find another reason to visit again!

Sweet childhood memories revived.

Thank you so much for having us at Melmerby Hall for our long weekend! Everyone appreciated such a well appointed house and its setting in those simply stunning grounds, and the accommodation fit us perfectly. The ensuite bath/shower rooms for every room were especially welcome.
Despite the weather, we still managed to enjoy the archery event on the lawns, put on by Mike Coates’ team (whom you had recommended), and otherwise enjoyed being very comfortable in the house together.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Melmerby Hall, and the other accommodation there, for a large group booking. We had a great time, and would love to see you again soon!

I booked Melmerby Hall for a family reunion and it was just lovely. It is a beautiful house, like something out of Pride and Prejudice and it felt a real privilege to get to stay there. There is a lovely large table with a huge skylight over the top we ate most of our meals at as a big family. The kids had a fantastic time roaming the house and gardens. I would love to go back and stay again.

We had a brilliant few days at Melmerby Hall. The house is stunning, really well equipped and super spacious. We’ve been on similar trips to this over the past 14 years and our group thought Melmerby Hall was the best we have had.

Melmerby Hall is simply an incredible property, located in a beautiful village close to lots of great walks and breathtaking countryside. With 12 rooms, each with it’s own bathroom, the Hall was ideal for our large group’s long weekend away, and the close proximity to some of the best walks in the Lake District meant there was loads to do. Whilst the property is very traditional in appearance it came equipped with all the necessary mod cons. Christine was an immensely helpful and friendly host, communicating throughout the booking process and ensuring we had everything we needed. I can’t recommend it enough! Thanks, Christine.

A wonderful house for our family group of 18, coming together from all over the country, to celebrate a 40th wedding anniversary. The 8 children pretty much entertained themselves, playing games of tag and hide and seek (the perfect house for it!), football, croquet, exploring down by the stream, giving guided tours to the ‘ghost’ in the cellar (we took one with us). Hardly a phone to be seen. Which left the 10 adults plenty of time to catch up, mainly sitting around the lovely long breakfast table. The snooker table was a huge hit with everyone. There was so much to do that we scarcely noticed the overcast weather. Catering was shared between everyone, made easier by having two dishwashers, and plenty of fridge, freezer and larder space. We loved the choice of bedrooms, with so much character in all of them.

A group of friends and myself stayed at Melmerby for the weekend and it was fabulous. Perfect size and comfort level for a large group, spotlessly clean, and well stocked for self catering. The garden was beautiful and immaculate, and the local area was stunning for walks. We had a lovely meal at the village pub. Thanks Christine!

Amazing stay at Melberby Hall celebrating my dads 70th Birthday. We had 5 families across varying ages and a few dogs. The place was everything we could have dreamed of and more. Stunning house, wonderful location and fabulous hosts. Thank you and hope to be back again one day!
