Great place to stay with many places just a short drive, property is well maintained and was very clean with a generous welcome basket . Recommend the Rowley Estates. Many great walks for all abilities and outdoor activities in the local area . Plenty of Historic things to see and some nice scenic view points Loads of places to eat within a short drive but the village has a very nice bakery that doubles as a shop and a pub with nice food and drink open Wednesday to Sunday.

We enjoyed our week in the spacious house and garden of Kirkbride Hall. Very comfortable accommodation in a quiet village that provides a good base for trips to the Lakes and easy access to the North Pennines.

Our stay at Kirkbride hall was everything we had wished for and more. The cottage is beautiful and very well equipped. The management team could not have been more helpful in accommodating our needs and that of our 2 year grandson. Would definitely recommend. Look forward to our next visit

Just returned from a fabulous holiday at Kirkbride hall. Location is good, in a small village with a local bakery and public house, both with very good standard food. The property is at a very high standard with everything you would require for your stay being provided. The gardens are ideal for a dog and there’s plenty of walks that are detailed in a folder within the property. I would highly recommend any of the properties that are part of the Rowley Estates without question after our time and service we received from our stay.

Although we were only 7 miles from home, we could have been anywhere in the country. What a gem of a place Kirkbride Hall is. A stunning 5 🌟 property which caterers for your every need. I needn’t have been worried about taking the little things, like tea towels and condiments as everything we needed, was provided. All we wanted was a restful weekend break with friends and to shut the world out for a few days, Kirkbride Hall was just the place to do this. I would highly recommend a stay in this beautiful property.

This is one of the best cottages we have rented! Stunning location which is a short walk to bakery, cafe and pub. The area is great for walking and admiring stunning scenery and only a short drive to Lakes – so you get the access to the Lakes without the busy-ness that always puts us off visiting the Lake District! Cottage is spacious and everything you need is here. Linen is high quality, beds comfortable and the welcome basket was very generous! Furthermore , our booking, pre-stay info and planning was expertly and professionally handled by Christine who helped us brilliantly! We’ll be back for sure and will recommend to friends.

This is a wonderful and comfortable house, so well appointed with every amenity one could need during a week’s stay thought of and provided for. There’s a great kitchen and dining table for meals in and we were lucky with sunshine to enjoy the garden. The bedrooms are very comfortable with lovely bathrooms. It is super clean and looks very newly refurbished. There is a wealth of local information in the house which was much appreciated, including details and maps for walks and drives and local restaurants and menus. The village is lovely with a great coffee shop and a pub. Penrith is nearby and it’s an easy run down to the Lakes, with plenty to do around more local area also. Would love to come back here and hope to!

Absolutely perfect for 8 adults, one three year old and 3 dogs!! The house is outstanding – luxurious, clean and cosy. It was exactly what we needed! The standard of the accommodation is amazing, and the hamper om arrival was such a lovely surprise. The information about walks and eating out/shopping was fantastic too. No doubt we will be back again.

We stayed at Kirkbride Hall in the tiny village of Melmerby outside of Penrith and close to the Lake District. I was absolutely blown away by this place, it sits adjacent to the most amazing little church, so it is so quiet and quaint. Its easy walking distance to the little village with quaint little shops and a close drive to Penrith if you need anything. The house itself was perfect and some really great touches (your dinner table turns into a billiard table, our kids just loved that!) the backyard is perfect and the bedrooms and kitchen and bathrooms are modern and impeccable. The quintessential country escape, it was great.
