We had such a wonderful stay. Beautifully close to all the best Lake District hikes, but equally tucked away and peaceful. Christine left us the best collection of food on arrival too – locally made jam, bread, muesli, coffee, tea, and much more! Both the kitchen and bathroom came fully equipped with everything we could possibly need. Very grateful to have a shower too, which is so needed after a full day of hiking!

Christine was incredibly helpful, friendly and accommodating throughout our stay. Beautiful, remote location surrounded by the local wildlife and nature!

Secluded, beautiful scenery. Wanted for nothing (outside seating, logs for the fire, local sourced products like bread, milk, eggs, butter and so much more).

This is a great place, if you really want some peace and quiet and retreat from the world as there is absolutely no signal. It is a very remote place and you have beautiful nature around you with a river flowing nearby. The hut is clean and cosy and provides breakfast items as well. Will definitely come back in warmer days 🙂

We really enjoyed our stay here, the cabin is set in such peaceful surroundings and feels so private. Christine was very helpful and responsive when we had a small problem with the boiler. Wish we stayed for longer!

Directions and information provided made the retreat very easy to find. Although it was a wet October, the surroundings were very atmospheric with the constant sound of the river that was visible from the front door to the pheasant that wondered past one afternoon. A lovely breakfast selection was provided that was more than ample for my 3 night stay. There were all the utensils you would need to prepare meals which I took advantage of as I mostly stayed in the hut to be way from the world.
I had wanted a quiet, restful getaway and that was what I got: there was no wi-fi to distract me; there was village a nice walk away away for papers; and a cosy hut to read and potter in.
Christine was very helpful when I had a small issue and the booklet left in the hut provided all the information needed for the hut and the surrounding area.
I’d definitely recommend for a restful glamping experience.
