We recently returned from celebrating our wedding at Blencowe Hall and would recommend for future guests looking for somewhere intimate for their wedding! We had been liaising throughout the year with Joanna, the wedding coordinator, who has been incredibly responsive and helpful throughout the whole process. We feel she went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly and that we stayed well informed regarding all COVID-19 procedures. The Hall itself is huge and as we had 19 guests staying with us, was a perfect size for everybody to be able to gather together alongside the fire in the Solar Room or enjoy their own space in the many other communal rooms throughout the Hall. It’s got such character and all of our guests loved it, especially guests who came from far to be with us – it has real English charm! We hired out the Byre as an extra for our ceremony which worked really well and we absolutely loved the style of the building. We decided to dec the whole place out ourselves with a autumnal theme and set up our own self-serve bar outside on the flagged patio. Later in the evening, we had Lynn Hilditch come and serve us all garlic bread and pizza from her pizza oven alongside some really delicious salads. It was Lynn’s first event where all of the food was vegan and you wouldn’t have guessed it! It was all absolutely amazing, we had non-vegan guests say that it was the best pizza they’d ever had and the garlic bread went down a storm! We had Lynn come back the morning after to do a vegan brunch, full English style, with some of her homemade chocolate granola and fresh fruit – again, our guests were in awe of how generous her portions were, how friendly she and her staff were and how delicious the food was. Would highly recommend! Thank you all for helping make our day so special and run so smoothly. Our guests were blown away and we will always have fond memories of the place!

We had a fabulous time thank you. Everything about the castle is first class. The beds, pillows and bedding – luxury. Everybody in the group commented. The dining room was so welcoming although we spent a lot of time in the kitchen. The welcome basket was great, especially the fudge and biscuits. I honestly couldn’t find anything negative to say we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would come back in a heartbeat

I cannot recommend Blencowe Hall highly enough! 24 of us stayed for 3 days for a Hen Weekend and it was absolutely perfect. Christine was fantastic throughout the booking process, despite 3 date moves due to Covid, the flexibility, professionalism and care was superb. Blencowe Hall itself is just unbelievably amazing. It is HUGE, with so much space, beautiful furnishing and a real sense of luxury. It was the perfect place to make many happy memories! I look forward to more bookings with the Rowley Estates and would love to return to Blencowe in the future!

Such an amazing place, stunning inside and out. Christine and the team where so helpful throughout the booking process and couldn’t do enough to make a special weekend happen. I will definitely be re-booking Blencowe Hall again in the near future!

What an amazing place . This is such an experience . Such a high standard of accommodation in beautiful grounds. The building has been so tastefully renovated leaving all the original features. Simply stunning.

Blencowe Hall was the most perfect venue for a wedding! The hall is fabulous, spacious and beautifully restored and equipped to a very high standard. Responses to any queries were very prompt, the gardens were lovely and we all want to go back!

We had a wonderful time and cannot fault it!  Everyone, adults and children alike, thoroughly enjoyed it and  thought it was a beautiful building, lovingly restored with great attention to detail. The South Tower glazing restoration is particularly impressive as are the gardens, enjoyed very much by our family dog Floyd.
We followed one of the guided walks off your website on the Monday, the one that goes from Greystoke and loops round back to Greystoke.  It was a great walk and great scenery.  No one wanted to leave and we will definitely be back!

What a beautiful, beautiful house – the perfect setting for my ‘big birthday’ country house weekend. All the rooms were sensitively decorated with timeless furniture that combined comfort and luxury, and I really felt that I was ‘Lady of the Manor’. Great facilities (snooker room, roll top baths, comfy beds, huge well-stocked kitchen, wifi etc.) we were wanting for nothing. But it was the little touches that really made it special, such as the freezer being pre-stocked with bags and bags of ice to ensure that G&Ts were served at the right temperature throughout our entire stay. Fabulous!

We had our perfect wedding day at Blencowe Hall back in September. From the minute we contacted The Rowley Estate we had a brilliant experience and Christine, Gillian, Joanna and Heather couldn’t have been more helpful. Heather on the day of our wedding was excellent and made sure we were in the right place at the right time. She visited us the day before our wedding to run through things with us which really helped us know how to set up for our ceremony and put us at ease. Blencowe Hall gave us the opportunity to host a weekend away for family and friends, with lovely rooms for everyone. There was enough space for 23 of us plus 2 babies and a 3 year old. We were lucky enough to have lovely weather which allowed us to have an outdoor wedding ceremony followed by drinks and canapés on the lawn, and archery with Michael Coates (who we would highly recommend) the following day followed by a BBQ is the beautiful garden. A special thanks goes to Lynn Hilditch who is recommended by The Rowley Estate and provided us with the most delicious food. We had a ‘drop-off’ meal on the Friday evening, a full English breakfast on Saturday morning, canapés on the lawn after our wedding ceremony, a 2-course wedding breakfast and then pizzas on Saturday evening. The food and service from Lynn and her staff was perfect. We would highly recommend Lynn when staying at Blencowe Hall (or any of the other Rowley Estate properties). We had many complements from guests about the food and Lynn was able to cater for the various dietary requirements that our guests had. Once again, thank you very much for helping us to have the most perfect day at Blencowe Hall. We just wish we could do it all again!!

My family and freinds has just spent a fabulous weekend at the castle celerbrating my 60th Birthday , we could not fault anything. Blencoew hall is well equipt with everything you could possibly need. The historic rooms have been sensitively restored, with amazing views from the windows, a weekend i will never forget, thank you Christine for all your help and advice.
