The fitted kitchen comes equipped with a SMEG 2 burner gas hob, a Bosch oven, and an undercounter fridge, offering everything needed for intimate, home-cooked meals. Disconnect if you would like by switching off the fibre optic broadband, or keep it connected for a peaceful ‘work-from-holiday’ option. Maple Retreat is built with locally sourced larch, insulated with Herdwick wool and designed for year-round comfort, with heating throughout, including a warming towel rail in the shower room and a separate drying area for boots and coats near the private firepit (complimentary logs, kindling and matches provided… of course)

Probably the best place I’ve stayed on AirBnb so far. I’m currently writing a book and this place was the perfect location. Great WiFi, very cosy but also very secluded.

Had a wonderfully peaceful and comfortable few nights at Maple Retreat. The cabin was very well-kept and had everything I needed, including a pile of firewood and other generous touches from the host that really made the place homely. Had a wonderful stay at the Shepard’s hut would definitely recommend you anyone looking to stay close to the Lake District and would recommend the llama walk next to the hut!
