This is our second stay. Lovely, well equipped and maintained cottage with 2 comfortable beds/bedrooms. In a beautiful rural setting near to many local walks. Quieter location than the main lakes, which can get very busy with lots of traffic, but these are still easily reached by car for a half day/day trip.
The welcome hamper is very generously stocked with delicious groceries.
Plenty of places to eat out and/or the main supermarkets will deliver here.
The Rowley estate team are all very friendly and efficient.
Our 2 dogs and we were very happy with our relaxing week.

What an incredible place for a family gathering this is! Photos do not do it justice, with its lovely warm kitchen, huge lounge, snooker room and 12 magnificent bedrooms. It took us a while to be able to navigate successfully around all its rooms! The kids loved the gardens with plenty of room for croquet, Frisbee and lots of other outdoor games and despite its size and grandeur, the hall felt welcoming and friendly. There was a generous amount of guest toiletries in all the bathrooms as well as plenty of dishwasher tablets and even several bags of charcoal for the two barbecues. Though there were 16 of us, there was loads of space to relax in and lots to see locally too. We had a very special time at Blencowe and really hope to be back again soon for another memorable family holiday.

Super, very well equipped cottage in a lovely quiet area near Ullswater.

We absolutely loved our stay and would choose to book here again! The shepherds hut was so quiet and peaceful and Christine was extremely helpful when we ran out of wood for the fire.

The house is beautiful and had everything you could possibly need! The garden was secure and beautifully kept and there were plenty of logs for the fire pit. Our dogs loved the garden! Attention to detail was evident and sustainable items used. In addition the welcome gift is a delightful touch. Christine was very responsive and the self check in was easy. Would highly recommend!

We felt absolutely at home at Kirkbride Hall from the moment we stepped through the door. Stunning house in a beautiful setting with everything you need to make your stay relaxed and comfortable. The welcome hamper was full of delightful goodies and everything had been thought of right down to a dog bowl and even a dog towel ( we had also brought our own). The Pure Lakeland toiletries that are provided are divine so I will be looking to order some for our home. We were lucky with the weather and sat outside a lot in the lovely walled garden – ideal for our dogs – and enjoyed the fire pit when the sun went down. Very pretty with the church right next door. Great area for walking too and the Village Bakery/Tearoom/Upstairs shop is a delight as is the newly reopened Shepherd’s Inn Pub. We had Sunday lunch there and it was magnificent with super friendly hosts who sang Happy Birthday to me in both Danish and Mexican! A first for me at 65! Absolutely fabulous trip – will be back!

We loved our stay in this adorable Shepherd’s Hut. The bed was king size, very comfortable and we slept incredibly well. It is very well equipped with fridge, gas hob and cooker and was lovely and warm inside. The shower is also a good size with good pressure in the ensuite bathroom, and there is a huge space under the bed for suitcases and to tuck other things away. We would definitely stay here again as the outside space is fantastic overlooking the river with three seating areas including the BBQ area. Highly recommend.

Beautiful, spacious house in a gorgeous location. So peaceful. We loved the walled garden and the views of the village church.

We stayed in July with two other families and had a fabulous time. The set up was perfect, with lots of space for the group as well as privacy for each family and the 6 adults, 6 kids (age 2-7) and a dog! The welcome basket was fantastic and we loved the complimentary raspberry picking at the rowley estates. We were so lucky with the weather and ate in the garden every evening with the fire pit to keep us warm when the sun went down. Would highly recommend Todd Hills as a place to explore the surrounding areas and great for groups.
