Despite it being the weekend of storm Dennis, 18 of us, covering 3 generations had a wonderful get-together. Ample space for so many people & really comfy beds. Very well equipped including all the things that are sometimes missing. Welcome hamper was lovely and really appreciated.

We have just had the most wonderful 5 nights staying in Jenny’s Croft which really is the most perfect base to explore the Lake District. The cottage is very well appointed, is warm, cosy & welcomes dogs. The welcome pack was amazing & full of lovely treats as well as the essentials. We did some fabulous walks around Ullswater, had lots of delicious coffee from the Village Bakery in Melmerby & stocked up on supplies from Cranstons in Penrith. We couldn’t recommend it more highly & Christine & her team were a pleasure to deal with.

Wow ! The Rowley estates were recommended by my friend, resulting in us booking Elk cottage to celebrate new year and we absolutely did ! Amazing cottage, luxurious bedrooms, dining room, wood burner , absolutely everything you need for a fabulous weekend. All logs provided for fire ( not had that before) charcoal for the bbq provided too and we did use it on New Year’s Eve. The hamper was amazing too. I have no faults at all ! But just a note for other dog owners. We took our dog an 18 month old boxer,. There is a small enclosed area leading from the utility room! Fantastic for small dogs but our dog would have easily leaped between the gate and wall. There wasn’t an enclosed area for us to let him him run. I absolutely loved getting him on his lead and walking him at night the clear skies and stars are amazing !! As I say not a negative just something to be aware of. I would absolutely visit again and can5 thank rowley esates enough

A perfect house for large family get together or large group of friends. You will find a very generous welcome pack and immaculately clean yet homely house. The bed linen is all lovely Egyptian cotton and the towels are all fluffy! The kitchen has an Aga and a conventional oven so plenty of space to cook for all the people the house sleeps. There is a downstairs bedroom for anyone with mobility issues and lots of space for people to come together or take themselves off for a little quiet time. I can not recommend this house highly enough!

We had the most wonderful short stay at Riverain between Christmas and New Year. Emails from Christine in the lead up to arrange bedding were excellent and made sure that the person in our party with a feather allergy was catered for. When we arrived we were delighted to find a festive wreath on the door and Christmas tree in the sitting room. The welcome hamper is an excellent touch filled with local goodies and meant we didn’t need to worry about milk for cups of tea in the morning. In fact breakfast was entirely covered with eggs, granola, home baked bread, butter and jam all provided for us! The rooms are all perfect with luxurious sheets and designer toiletries. Logs and kindling for fires all provided and the views from the house are exceptional! We have already recommend Riverain to friends and have it down on our list of places to return to. Thank you Christine and everyone at the Rowley Estates for a fabulous stay!

We stayed in Melmerby Hall for a 60th Birthday party with the whole family and friends. It had everything. Spacious, well equiped and all the creaks and quirks you expect of a period property. Gorgeous

This was my third stay with Rowley Estates and having previously stayed at the larger properties, and wanting for a special location to welcome in the New Decade, it was a given we would use one of their properties. The organisation surrounding your stay is faultless and if your emphasis is on comfort and luxury, then you won’t be disappointed. We always self cater every meal and the extensively supplied kitchen is a dream to cater in, with every possible gadget and kitchen utensil making cooking a dream. Beautifully quiet location and the wood burning stove provides a fantastic ‘welcome home’ after walking in the beautiful landscape. We plan to return.

Stag Cottage is a wonderful place to stay. Melmerby itself is brilliant location – ideally placed so that you’re near to the Lakes but not in the madness. The Eden Valley and Pennines are absolute gems and worth exploring. We booked Stage Cottage for Christmas 2019 – the cottage is beautifully decorated, superbly well equipped and very comfortable. The welcome hamper was the most generous hamper of any holiday cottage we have stayed in and the log supply for the log burner was plentiful. It is one of the nicest holiday cottages we have stayed in. Christine Rowley was very helpful and responsive from the moment of making enquiries to when we arrived (and even after our stay). I can highly recommend – a wonderful place to stay to explore a less well know but incredibly beautiful part of Cumbria.

WOW! From first contact, to seeing Jilly just before our departure, every contact with Rowley Estate was professional, helpful and friendly. Superb customer service! Blencowe Hall itself is a place of dreams, a place for dreams and a place where dreams come true! 5* accommodation in a beautiful setting, Blencowe Hall left us and our guests speechless – As we were exploring on Friday Afternoon, all you could hear were gasps of delight and excitement as people entered each new room! The thoughtful welcome hamper, the luxury complimentary toiletries, all the little extra touches – superb and much appreciated! Absolutely the perfect place to celebrate! We had catering from Iain McKey and his wonderful team at Bespoke Catering Cumbria – the food was excellent and the service was friendly and professional. A fantastic venue with so much more than the WOW factor! We would wholeheartedly recommend both Rowley Estates AND Bespoke Catering Cumbria to family, friends and strangers alike! If you get the chance to go and stay at Blencowe Hall – DO IT! You won’t regret it!!
