Delightful, cosy, sparklingly clean, comfortable house, barn and stables. Plenty of room for all of us to be together, with the opportunity to retreat when in need of some space. Enormous hamper to welcome us, including all the basics for a cup of tea and a mince pie on arrival. The AGA made sure we were never cold. We had a fabulous time.

A stunning place to stay, we all really enjoyed it. Easy to find, the facilities were wonderful and felt very luxurious, with great communication throughout. We would highly recommend it for a break and will definitely be back ourselves

Very cosy and clean hut in the middle of the countryside. Christine didnt bother us while we were there but made it very clear she was there if we needed anything. The place was done to a very high standard and was the little touches such as milk, butter and a lovely food hamper on arrival really made it. Would definitely recommend if your looking for a quiet and picturesque place to relax for a few days

We thought that Wythburn Cottage was delightful. It is a beautiful building and the living spaces are warm and attractive. The high ceilinged kitchen diner is stunning and the living room cosy. The bedrooms are all very comfortable and it’s great to all have en suite facilities. The house is well equipped with plenty of kitchen appliances and fridge space. We do like to cook for ourselves and there were ample pans etc. Christine responded very quickly when we were in one afternoon and got a bit chilly, and remotely increased the heating temperature for us, which was great. All in all a very satisfactory stay, thank you.

Beautiful property, and breathtaking view all around. The road leading to the property is amazing. The rooms, food all the employees will make your holiday worthwhile that you will never regret.

We’ve been back on a big family weekend 2 years in a row, great house with endless rooms to explore, open fires and large gardens, highly recommend

We stayed at Melmerby Hall and Stag Cottage from 22 December – 27 December 2023 to celebrate my 60th Birthday and the Christmas festivities. We have previously had the pleasure of holidaying at various cottages owned by the Rowley Estates and it was exciting to be celebrating at Melmerby Hall this time around. Christine and her amazing team make the whole experience 5 star (from initial enquiry to leaving at the end of the stay) at whichever property you stay in.
There were 24 of us in Melmerby Hall and Stag Cottage (including 9 children) and every one of us could not fault anything about it. The Hall is so well equipped, and the beautiful welcome hampers are second to none. Both properties were decorated for Christmas with the most beautiful trees, door wreaths, swags, ribbons etc.
We made use of the wonderful gardens with a treasure hunt for the children and to run energy off playing hide and seek. All the children were delighted too that we had a visit on Christmas Eve from Father Christmas himself!
All in all, our stay has to go down as one of our best Christmas’ ever and we cannot thank Christine and her team enough for their hard work and dedication to make our dream come true. A beautiful property in the most fantastic location, with endless walking opportunities from the front door.
I am so looking forward to our next cottage stay later this year.

Christine’s place at the Larch retreat was amazing. Had all the amenities you needed. Very cozy space. Christine was a great host and communicated very well. We had a small issue of figuring out the boiler when we first got there and Christine really kindly came over to help us fix it immediately. There is a log burner both inside and outside that is great. Overall would definitely recommend as it’s the perfect little place to stay.
