We’ve stayed at several of the properties over the years and wanted to try the clamping cabins. We were not disappointed! The use of space is well thought out and no comprise on the beds, kitchen and welcome goodies. The Birch Retreat is far superior than other clamping offerings countrywide.

We felt welcome from the start, from the generous parking space, we walked through a gate into a beautiful walled garden, safe for the dogs to explore. Another gate took us into the private terrace, also dog proof. Entering Wythburn we found a doggy towel and bowls available to use. The cottage was warm, with a welcome hamper waiting for us and a jar of biscuits for the pooches. Wythburn had everything we needed for our stay; comfy seating, cosy wood burner ready to light, comfy beds and plenty of storage – we even found spare batteries for the TV remote control!
This is our fifth stay with Rowley Estates and fifth different property and every visit has been the same standard. There is no doubt that we will return.

Riverain is a very well appointed, comfortable and roomy cottage set in a lovely quiet private estate, perfect for a relaxing break. The welcome provisions were really appreciated. Good comms with the owners. We loved that all the bedrooms were en-suite, two of the rooms were enormous and the beds were all comfy, two of those with zip link super kings. The kitchen was well equipped and had everything we needed for the 5 adults in our group. The main living area had 3 lovely comfortable sofas and a huge log burner. The underfloor heating worked really well and there was plenty of hot water for showers. Penrith is only 10 mins away by car with good supermarkets and shops, Pooley bridge and Ullswater is only 15 mins away, Keswick about 20 mins. We had a lovely stay and will be returning when next in the northern lakes.

We booked the Hall with 10 friends for a weekend away in October. The booking process was extremely smooth and Christine very helpful and informative right down to how we wanted beds configured. The arrival process was simple as we had been given the lock box details in advance. The house was spotless, warm and welcoming and there was a lovely welcome hamper and items in the fridge (enough for all 12 of us). First impressions could not have been better. The house is one of the best stocked we have ever seen regarding the kitchen items – you will want for nothing including a supply of logs which allowed us to sit around the fire(s) every day playing games which the 12 of us had never done before and was such fun. The bedrooms are all ensuite (with locally sourced shampoo, body wash, conditioner etc) and we had a beautiful four poster room at the top of the house. There are a couple of pubs nearby if you don’t fancy cooking and we booked the clay pigeon shooting Christine mentions on her website – which was another highlight as Peter our coach was superb. I would highly recommend everything about Melmerby Hall. Its a stunning property in a lovely part of the world.

Recently had a 3 night stay at stag cottage. There were 4 of us and our dogs. Stag cottage was beautiful. Large front and back gardens for the dogs! You also have access to melmerby hall grounds which are very pleasant to walk around.
The cottage had a downstairs bedroom with en-suite.
Open plan living room with kitchen and dinning area. Kitchen equipped with everything you could possibly need.
There is also a formal dinning room at the back of house .
Up stairs there is a large double with en-suite.
I had the master bedroom which is huge! Beautiful big room with dressing room and large en-suite.
Went to the local pub every night and ate there in the Saturday. I believe it is new owners since we were there last year. The food was absolutely delicious. Would recommend having a meal.
All in all a great weekend would definitely go back.

A beautiful place to stay. Great amenities, plenty of private space and the location is to die for!

We booked Todd Hills Hall Farm and nearby Vale Croft to celebrate my sister’s 60th birthday and we had the most wonderful time during our stay. The location of Todd Hills is simply stunning with fantastic views towards the Lake District and within walking distance to the village of Melmerby.

The property was just perfect for our celebration and superbly equipped for all our needs. Although I took with me a collection of items that I thought might be needed, I need not have bothered as Todd Hills has it all. Even our dogs were well catered for with dog bowls, treats, towels and even poop bags!

The living space at Todd Hills is excellent with sun lounge, tv sitting area and spacious kitchen complete with AGA which meant that our party of 12 plus dogs had plenty of room. The dining room was perfect for our party and we enjoyed superb evenings dining and celebrating together before a few games of billiards on the converted dining table. The bedrooms are all well designed and complete with en suite facilities which were spotless as was the rest of the property.

We enjoyed our stay so much we are already talking about a return visit next year. A huge thank you to Christine and her team at Rowley Estates for making our stay at Todd Hills such a wonderful and memorable experience.

We had a good family fun weekend in very comfortable accommodation. Really cosy and spacious enough for all of us and a big dog!

Had a fab time staying here as 5 couples and 3 dogs. All the bedrooms were beautiful and great sizes. Really nice garden with wonderful views. Kitchen had everything we needed (welcome hamper was a nice bonus!). We had a dinner out at the local pub which is a 10 minute walk from the airbnb which was lovely – really good food and the owners were super welcoming! Would definitely stay again!

The Oak Retreat Shepherd’s hut was fantastic! We had a wonderful, peaceful stay and would certainly come back. It was everything we could have wanted
